• A case of Burglary has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. In between 1430 hrs of 04/03/2009 and 11/03/2009 some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one John Menejas (60) R/o Loretto padavu Amtadi village Bantwal Taluk and committed a theft of Bronze and Copper vessels. The worth of stolen property is yet to be estimated.

• A case of MV Theft has been registered in Ullal Police Station. In between 1300 hrs and 1345 hrs of 06/03/2009 some unknown culprits committed a theft of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-W-4528 belonging to one Abdul Rahiman R/o Halekote Ullal village Mangalore Taluk that was parked near Masjad Huda mosque at Thokkottu Ullal village Mangalore Taluk. The motorcycle is worth Rs. 38,000/.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Subramanya Police Station. On 11/03/2009 at 0930 hrs at Gutthigaru Sullia Taluk one Gunapala driver of Jeep bearing Reg. No. CNH-2747 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which the jeep capsized. As a result Kushi (02), Chethan, Anand and Keshava who were traveling in the said jeep sustained serious injuries. Further Kushi was admitted to City hospital at Mangalore where in she was declared dead while under treatment on the same day.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. In between 1000 hrs and 1500 hrs of 11/03/2009 near Nalpad residency L.H.H road at Mangalore one unknown driver of Maruti Omni car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-MF-9696 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-6316 belonging to one Shekar Shetty R/o Kadri Hills Mangalore. As a result car got damaged. No causalities reported. The driver of Maruti Omni car escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 11/03/2009 at 0810 hrs infront of Kumar’s International Hotel at Bendoorwell Mangalore one unknown auto rickshaw driver drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-X-8466. As a result motorcycle rider one Shiju Joseph (32) R/o Kavoor Mangalore sustained grievous injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 11/03/2009 at 0630 hrs at Krishnanagar Bondel Mangalore one Mahammad Ashraff rider of scooter bearing Reg. No. KA-19-L-1298 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which scooter capsized. As a result one Ameeruddin (28) R/o Krishnanagar Bondel Mangalore pillion rider of said scooter sustained simple injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 09/03/2009 at 1045 hrs on NH 17 near Karnataka Bank at Idya village Mangalore Taluk one Mayyadi rider of scooty bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Q-6029 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-R-2154. As a result motorcycle rider one Suresh Adyanthaya (37) R/o Pandeshwara Mangalore sustained simple injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Uppinangdy Police Station. On 11/03/2009 at 0615 hrs on NH 48 at Bollaru 34th Nekkiladi village Puttur Taluk one driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-06-D-1080 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which lorry capsized. As a result lorry got damaged. No causalities reported.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 10/03/2009 at 0900 hrs at Adai Kokkada village Belthangady Taluk one driver of Jeep bearing Reg. No. KA-18-M-428 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-K-4641. As a result one Binu T.P. (29) R/o Valala Rekhya village Belthangady Taluk pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained grievous injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 26/01/2009 at 1430 hrs at Nelyadi Puttur Taluk one Rukmaya Poojary driver of Jeep bearing Reg. No. KA-21-M-415 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against an auto rickshaw. As a result one Kamala (45) R/o Janatha Colony Nelyadi village Puttur Taluk passenger of said auto rickshaw sustained simple injuries. The driver of jeep escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

On 11/03/2009 at 2115 hrs accused Chandrashekara and others forming into an unlawful assembly near S.V.S College at Kotramangundi Bantwal Town and abused one Shivalinga Kondagooli The Election Officer Bantwal Taluk in filthy language while he was on duty at S.V.S College at Kotramangundi Bantwal Town and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

On 11/03/2009 at 1915 hrs accused two unknown persons criminally stopped an auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-1860 belonging to Akhil Sheik (22) R/o Kuttharpadavu Munnur village Mangalore Taluk and abused him in filthy language at Kutthar Munnur village Mangalore Taluk and assaulted him by hand and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 10/03/2009 at 2100 hrs one Narayana A.K (75) R/o Dhoddadka Aramthodu village Sullia Taluk committed suicide by hanging near his house owing to health problem.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 11/03/2009 at 0730 hrs one Putta Baira (40) R/o Kaje Bellare village Sullia Taluk was found dead near school at Nettaru Bellare village Sullia Taluk. The death seems to be due to heavy drunkenness.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Subramanya Police Station. On 10/03/2009 at 1430 hrs one Rajani B. B (22) R/o Kajimadka Kalmakkaru village Sullia Taluk committed suicide by consuming some poison in her house owing to personal problem.

No. KA-22-S-8228 belonging to one Sathyan Gagappa Bhandary R/o Bejai New road Mangalore that was parked in the parking place of KSRTC bus stand Mangalore. The motorcycle is worth Rs. 30,000/.

On 08/03/2009 at 2055 hrs near Bus stop at RTO Mangalore one Keshava (55) R/o Atthavara Mangalore passenger of the bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-8127 while getting down from the bus, the driver of bus moved the bus in a negligent manner due which he fell down from the bus and sustained simple injuries. The bus driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

On 10/03/2009 at 0430 hrs on Kavoor-Bajpe road at Malavoor village Mangalore Taluk one driver of Tempo vehicle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-6206 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which the tempo vehicle capsized. As a result Nagesh S. Valikar R/o Hanagunda Taluk Bagalakote District who were traveling in the said tempo sustained grievous injuries.

No. KA-19-B-792 by pelting the stone belonging to one Abbas M.G. R/o Perimaru Pudu village Bantwal Taluk and gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue. The damage is caused about Rs. 4,000/.

• A case of Boy missing has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. One Rakesh Joseph (13) R/o Bendrala Thotatthady village Belthangady Taluk left his house on 05/03/2009 at 0800 hrs and did not return to his house there after. He was found missing since then.

• A case of Burglary has been registered in Ullal Police Station. In between 1400 hrs of 07/03/2009 and 09/03/2009 some unknown culprits gained entry into the classroom at 4th floor A.B Shetty Memorial Institute Dental Science at Deralakatte Mangalore Taluk by breaking the door lock and committed a theft of DLP Projector worth Rs. 96,000/.

Fatal: 02

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 09/03/2009 at 2200 hrs near K.K Gate Meenakaliya junction at Baikampady Mangalore Shareef driver of Tipper lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-30-7042 and another unknown driver of tipper lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-19-C-3013 drove their vehicles in a rash and negligent manner and collided against each other. Further Shareef driver of Tipper lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-30-7042 lost control over the vehicle and collided against the pedestrians Hanumantha, Shivappa and Yamunappa and caused them serious injuries. As a result Shivappa and Yamunappa died on the spot.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 09/03/2009 at 1945 hrs on NH 17 near bus stop at Ambika Road Ullal Village Mangalore Taluk one Samshuddin driver of Kerala State Transport bus bearing Reg. No. KL-15-7193 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a Scooty scooter bearing Reg. No. KA-19-U-6433. As a result scooter rider Raghav Uchil (60) R/o Kapikadu Ullal Mangalore and pillion rider of said scooter his son Sachin (28) sustained serious injuries. Further Raghav Uchil succumbed to his injuries while on the way to hospital.

No. KA-19-AA-5595 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against an Alto car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-7087 belonging to one Shamshuddin (40) R/o Jokatte Thokuru village Mangalore Taluk. As a result car got damaged. No causalities reported. The damage is caused about Rs. 30,000/.

On 07/03/2009 at 1600 hrs near Vas bakery at Balmatta Mangalore one Basheer (30) R/o Uppinangady Puttur Taluk passenger of the bus while getting down from the bus, the driver of bus moved the bus in a negligent manner due which he fell down from the bus and sustained simple injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered Mangalore East Police Station. On 09/03/2009 at 1330 hrs on NH 17 at Tharethota Mangalore one Bhimappa Lamani driver of KSRTC Bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-2206 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against an auto tempo bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-6341 due which auto tempo driver lost control over his vehicle and rammed to Tipper lorry that was parked at roadside. As a result one Pushparaj (24) R/o Kapikad Mangalore driver of auto tempo sustained simple injuries and auto tempo also got damaged .

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 08/03/2009 at 2100 hrs at Aramburu Sullia Town one Thirumaleshwara driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-21-8735 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-V-3024 due which both the vehicles capsized. As a result motorcycle rider one Yathish and pillion rider of said motorcycle Sanath sustained simple injuries.

On 08/03/2009 at 1730 hrs accused Ashraf and Sarfaraj abused one Samshuddin (23) R/o B.P Compound Bajpe Mangalore Taluk in filthy language near Dynamic Service station at Bajpe Mangalore Taluk and assaulted him by hand and with belt and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

• A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Bajpe Police Station. On 08/03/2009 at 1730 hrs accused Hingaru @ Sadanandha abused one Manjunatha (38) R/o Kurunja Shibaje village Belthangady Taluk in filthy language near his house and assaulted him by hand owing to trivial issue.

On 09/03/2009 at 0820 hrs on credible information DySP Excise and Lottery Detention Squade Western Range Mangalore along with staff conducted a raid on an open place at Madaka Gattikudru Amblamogaru Mangalore Taluk seized (35 ltrs) of illicit liquor worth Rs.20, 000/ and other raw materials by arresting Cyprian Cutinha (45) R/o Amblamogaru Mangalore. The total worth of seized property is Rs. 30,900/.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 09/03/2009 at 1100 hrs one dead body of Ramakrishna (52) R/o Padabettu Kottara Mangalore was found near seashore near Mosque at Thannirbhavi Mangalore. It seems to be a case of suicide by jumping into the sea.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. In between 08/03/2009 and 1445 hrs of 09/03/2009 one Neelayya Shetty (60) R/o Sanjaya Nagara Belthangady Town committed suicide by hanging at Kullanthi forest Layila village Belthangady Taluk owing to health problem.

• A case of Man missing has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 28/02/2009 one Lokayya Malekudiya (48) R/o Kolalu Malavanthige village Belthangady Taluk left his house and did not return to his house there after. He has been found missing since then.

• A case under Robbery has been registered in Barke Police Station relating to an incident of chain snatching. On 08/03/2009 at 1800 hrs on PVS-Kalakunja road at Kodialbail Mangalore one Bhanumathi V. Shetty (51) R/o Kodialbail Mangalore was on her way to home. At that time accused Arun Rego R/o Indira colony Neermarga Mangalore and Roy @ Rayappa came in a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Q-3027 near her and snatched the gold chain from her neck and while accused were trying to escape from the place Arun Rego was caught by the public and handed over to the Barke PS. However Roy @ Rayappa escaped from the place in the same motorcycle. The value of chain is around Rs.30, 000/.

Burglary: 01

• A case of Burglary has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. In between 1800 hrs of 07/03/2009 and 1600 hrs of 08/03/2009 some unknown culprits gained entry into the Om Enterprises shop at 3rd floor Kunil Centre Hampankatte Mangalore belonging to one Maneesh Kumar Pajwani (47) R/o Falnir Mangalore by breaking the shetter lock and committed a theft of cash. Rs. 3,00,000/.

In between 1530 hrs and 1800 hrs of 08/03/2009 some unknown culprits committed a theft of mobile phones (05) and cash Rs. 25,000/ that was kept inside the car bearing Reg. No. KA-03-MF-742 belonging to one Reven Noel (26) R/o Madivala Bengalooru which was parked in front of Sun rise hotel at Panambur Mangalore. The value of stolen property Rs.45, 000/.

On 07/03/2009 at 2330 hrs accused Bharath Kumar and other 10 to 15 persons forming into unlawful assembly and criminally trespassed into the premises of house belonging to one Malathi (45) R/o Vaidyanatha Nagara Atthavara Mangalore and abused her in filthy language and assaulted her with stone and also gave life threat to her owing to civil dispute between them.

• A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Mischief of causing damage along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 07/03/2009 at 2230 hrs accused Umesha, Ganesh and Amuna abused one Lalitha Lawrence D’ Souza (49) R/o Janatha colony Mupperya village Sullia Taluk in filthy language near her house and damaged the roof tiles of the house by pelting stones and also gave life threat to her owing to trivial issue.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 08/03/2009 at 2200 hrs on NH 13 at Kesarugadde Beluvai village Mangalore Taluk one Sheakar Kumar driver of Ambassador car bearing Reg. No. KA-20-6653 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-20-L-6030. As a result motorcycle rider Ganesh Pai sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. Further Ambassador car driver drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against another motorcycle at Beluvai Mangalore Taluk driven by one Seetharam and caused him grievous injuries. The Ambassador car driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 07/03/2009 at 1600 hrs at Kalayi Ammunje village Bantwal Taluk one Moideen driver of Indica car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-C-1776 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which car capsized. As a result Kareem Saheb (50) R/o Urpelpade Karinja village Mangalore Taluk, Shekar Poojary, Vittal Ballal and Pradeep Ballal who were traveling in the said car sustained simple injuries.

On 30/12/2008 one unknown person aged about 75-80 years accidentally fell down near Gomateshwara statue at Dharmasthala village Belthangady Taluk. Further he was admitted Govt. Gambling Raid: Three Arrested, Rs 1105 / seized

On 06/03/2009 at 1810 on specific information CPI Sullia Circle along with staff conducted raid an open place near Tourist Lodge at Gandhinagara Sullia Town. At the time of raid Police found 03 persons playing “Ander - Bahar” with cards. Police seized cash Rs. 1,105/ and playing cards from the spot by arresting Mohideen J.A. @ Mohideen Bhava (45), Basheer K.M. (28) and Hamza M.K. (50) who were indulging in gambling.

In this connection, a case has been registered against the arrested persons in Sullia PS U/s 87 of the Karnataka Police Act.

No. KA-19-B-7472 due which the auto rickshaw capsized. As a result Suresh (42) R/o Budoli Peraje village Bantwal Taluk driver of auto rickshaw, Parameshwara Moolya (55), Babu and Manoj who were traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained serious injuries. Further Parameshwara Moolya succumbed to his injuries while on the way to hospital. The unknown driver of mines lorry escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
