The said Pushparaj was seriously injured by motorcycle in a road traffic accident on 15/08/2008 at 1630 hrs near Railway Bridge at Iddya village Mangalore Taluk and admitted to AJ hospital at Mangalore. Tiger Pelt Seized And Two Arrested By Puttur Town Police

On 12/08/2008 at 1130 hrs on credible information Sri Abhishek Goyal IPS, ASP Puttur Sub Division and staff arrested two persons at Room No 104 in Super Tower Lodge near KSRTC bus stand at Puttur Town and seized two tiger pelt by arresting.

• Usman (40) R/o Mundoor village Puttur Taluk.

In this connection, a case has been registered in Puttur Town PS under the Wild Life (Protection) Act 1972. The total worth of the seized tiger pelt is estimated to be Rs.2 lakhs.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station where in one Jayaprakash (21) R/o Henala House Mantradi village Mangalore Taluk declared dead while under treatment on 08/08/2008 at 2300 hrs. The said Jayaprakash was sustained serious injured by a motorcycle in a road traffic accident on 04/08/2008 at 1330 hrs at Howdal Moodabidre Mangalore Taluk and was admitted to the hospital. In this connection a case has already been registered in Moodabidre Police Station.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 09/08/2008 at 1600 hrs on Bejai Church road at Mangalore accused one rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KL-7-V-1578 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Santro car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-8386 driven by one Vishwanatha Poojary (51) R/o Bonthila Neerumarga Mangalore. As a result motorcycle rider and pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries and both vehicles also got damaged.

On 09/08/2008 at 1730 hrs in front of Wenlock hospital main gate at Mangalore one driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-6929 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Raghurama (45) R/o Police lane Mangalore a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 08/08/2008 at 1930 hrs at Berth. No. 6 at NMPT Port Mangalore one unknown driver of JCB bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-5866 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Shivananda (55) R/o NMPT Colony Panambur Mangalore a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries. The JCB driver escaped from place without stopping his vehicle.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Konaje Police Station. On 09/08/2008 at 1220 hrs at Urumane Manjanady village Mangalore Taluk one Sameer rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-S-8125 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and a Kinetic Honda scooter bearing Reg. No. Ka-30-H-7009. As a result Riyaz (43) rider of Kinetic Honda scooter, Abdul Ravoof pillion rider of said scooter and Sameer rider of motorcycle sustained simple injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 09/08/2008 at 1220 hrs at Ithuru Padavu Nidle village Puttur Taluk one driver of Indigo car bearing Reg. No. KA-16-A-2525 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-13-F-1570 driven by one Maniraj M R/o Arakalagodu Hassan District. As a result both vehicles got damaged. No causalities reported.

No. KA-09-ME-6269 and abused inmates Husain Suheb (27) R/o Surathkal Mangalore, Rizwan and Nawaz in filthy language and assaulted them with iron rod owing to trivial issue.

At the time of raid Police found 04 persons playing “Ander- Bahar” with cards. The Police seized cash Rs.4, 150/ and playing cards from the spot by arresting Madhava R/o Bagalakote District, Praveen R/o Mangalore, Aseef R/o Bantwal Town and Rohithshwa R/o Alape Mangalore who were indulged in gambling.

• A case of Gambling under Karnataka Police Act has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 06/08/2008 at 1930 hrs on credible information PI Mangalore South PS along with staff conducted a raid at Marnamikatte Mangalore. At the time of raid Police found 05 persons playing “Ander- Bahar” with cards. The Police seized cash Rs.410/ and playing cards from the spot by arresting Pradeep (28), Vishwanatha (48), Umanatha (48), Jayananda (52) and Vijaya (45) who were indulged in gambling.

• A case under Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 02/08/2008 one Rajeshwari K.S. attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison at Darpinja Laila village Belthangady Taluk owing to personal problem. Further she was admitted to KMC hospital at Mangalore where she declared dead while under treatment on 06/08/2008 at 1020 hrs.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 06/08/2008 at 0800 hrs one Gangadhara L. accidentally fell down while taking bath near Nethravathi Snanghatta at Dharmasthala village Belthangady Taluk. Further he was admitted to hospital where he was declared dead while under treatment on the same day at 0845 hrs. The death seems to be due some illness.

Gambling Raid By DCIB: Eight Arrested, Rs 5,020 / seized

On 06/08/2007 at 0915 hrs T.B.Rajanna PI DCIB along with his staff on credible information conducted raid on Mangalore Recreation Club at Ranga Pai Building P.M. road Mangalore. At the time of raid Police found 08 persons playing “Ander - Bahar” with cards. The Police seized cash Rs. 5,020/ and playing cards from the spot by arresting Sudesh (35), Rafeeq M. (36), Sundara Poojary (33), Balakrishna (29), Booba (52), Chandrashekara (23), Rukmaya (24) and Dinakara (33) who were indulging in gambling. The total value of siezed property is Rs. 5,060/.

In this connection, a case has been registered against the arrested persons in Mangalore North PS U/s 80 of the Karnataka Police Act.

Ganja Seized Worth Rs.21, 00,000

A case under NDPS Act has been registered in Venoor Police Station. On 06/08/2008 at 1600 hrs on credible information PI NDC COD Bangalore Camp at Mangalore along with staff intercepted a Maruti Omni car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-M-4275 and a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-H-3703 and seized 175 Kgs of Ganja worth Rs.21, 00,000 that were being transported illegally. However accused Laxmana Poojary and Dinesh @ Harish managed to escape from the place. The Maruti Omni car and motorcycle has also been seized. The Total worth of seized property is Rs.22, 80,000.

In this connection, a case has been registered in Venoor PS under NDPS Act 1985.

New Additional Superintendent of Police Takes Charge of D.K. District

Sri Dileep R. a KSPS officer of 1997 Batch as taken charge of D.K. District Addl. Supdt. Police today on 06th August 2008.

Dileep R. basically hails from Bangalore District of Karnataka. He is an Engineer by Education and has completed his B.E. Instrumentation of Technology from Tumkur District Karnataka.

He joined Karnataka State Police Service in March 1997 after procuring 8th Rank for the State in KPSC exam. He was promoted as S.P. (KSPS) in July 2002.

He Received CM’s Medal in 2007 and was a Performing Classical Musician and went Germany as Rotary International’s Goodwill Ambassador (GSE) in 2005.

Rectified Spirit Seized by Sullia Police: Two held

On 05/08/2008 at 2100 hrs on credible information CPI Sullia Circle, PSI Crime Sullia PS along with his staff intercepted a 407-tempo bearing Reg. No. KL-11-E-853 near Junior collage at Sullia Town by arresting Mohammad Kamaluddin @ Razak (20) R/o Vidhyanagar Kasaragod and Narayana R/o Kumble Kasaragod and seized 67 cans (each 35 Lts) rectified spirit being transported illegally. However Sajeevan, Shabeek and Shabeer managed to escape from the place. The 407-tempo has also been seized. Total worth of rectified spirit seized is Rs. 1,00, 000/ and value of 407-tempo is Rs. 2,00,000/.

In this connection, a case has been registered in Sullia PS under Karnataka Excise Act.

On 05/08/2008 at 0235 hrs ASI Ullal PS along with staff apprehended Mohammad Saleem (33) R/o Urumane Manjanady village Mangalore Taluk and Irshad (24) R/o Chembugudde Permannuru village Mangalore Taluk who were found moving suspiciously in an auto rickshaw near at Beeri junction Kotekar village Mangalore Taluk. On enquiry it was learnt that the auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-6130, 5 small Gas cylinders and an Exide battery has been stolen somewhere else and the auto rickshaw was seized. The total value of property seized is worth Rs. 75,000/. Accordingly a case was registered in Ullal PS .

• A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 29/07/2008 at 1730 hrs on credible information PSI Uppinangady PS along with staff conducted a raid on open place at Panekallu Bandaru village Belthangady Taluk and seized 24 liquor bottles (each 180 ML) of worth Rs. 9,00/ and by arresting Adappa Gowda (44) R/o Bandaru Belthagandy Taluk and Mancha Mugera (40) R/o Bandaru Belthangady Taluk.

Unnatural Death Report: 03

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 25/07/2008 at 2030 hrs one Sarojini (70) R/o Mogaveerpatna Ullal Mangalore sustained serious burn injuries while trying to light a Kerosene lamp in her house. She was admitted to Wenlock Hospital at Mangalore where she succumbed to her injuries while under treatment on 05/08/2008 at 0530 hrs.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 04/08/2008 in between 0920 hrs and 2120 one Neelappa (28) R/o Ontetthoor Mooda Nadugogu village Bantwal Taluk committed suicide by hanging in his house owing to personal problem.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. In between 04/08/2008 at 0800 hrs and 05/08/2008 at 1300 hrs one Satheesha (23) R/o Bakimaru Sangabettu village Bantwal Taluk committed suicide by jumping into the Palguni river near his house owing to personal problem.

Missing Persons: 01

• A case of Boy missing has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. One Ganesh (17) R/o Uddhoda Palke Kadirudyavara village Belthangady Taluk went to school at Poonjalkatte on 31/07/2008 and did not return to his house thereafter. He has been found missing since then.
