Daily Crime Incidents for July 15, 2006

The following are the crimes reported in D.K. District during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 15.07.06

Murder:
  • A case of murder has been reported from Bantwal Rural PS limits where in the dead body of Puttumonu a panchayat member of Ulaibettu Gram Panchayat has been found in a highly decomposed state from Kudthapadpu of Ira vilage of Bantwal taluk. The said Puttumonu 42 yrs was reported missing from Mangalore since last Saturday (08-07-06) and in this connection a case of Man missing was already registered at Mangalore Rural PS.

Dacoity :

  • A case of Dacoity has been registered in Panambur Police Station regarding an incident that occured on 28-04-2006 at 1530 hrs when one Mr. Uday Kumar and his friend Mr Avinash were near the thannirbhavi beach. At that time, six unknown persons assaulted Mr.Uday Kumar and snatched a pendent and Rs 800/ from him and Rs 400/ from Mr Avinash according to the complaint lodged.

Burglary:

  • A case of Burglary has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station regarding the theft of M/s Kavitha Fashion Shop near Rao & Rao Circle Mangalore on the intervening night of 13/14-07-06 wherein some unknown persons broke the lock and entered the shop and committed theft of property valued Rs.15,000/.
  • Another case of Burglary has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station regarding theft of M/s Mobile Communication Shop near Rao & Rao Circle, Mangalore on the intervening night of 13/14-07-2006 where in some unknown persons broke the lock and entered shop and committed theft of cash & mobile phones valued Rs 22,750/.
  • A case of Burglary has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station regarding theft of Panchayat High School in Kabaka Village where in between 27-06-2006 and 28-06-2006 some unknown persons broke the door lock and Committed theft of 3 Gas Cylinders worth Rs.2,500/.
  • A case of Burglary has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On the night of 13-07-2006 some unknown persons broke the door lock of Kitchen Room of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat High School Meenade Keenya and committed theft of Kitchen Items valued about Rs 15,000/

  • A case of Road accident has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 14-07-2006 at 1130 hrs near Panjara, Uppinangady Village, Puttur Taluk the Driver of the Bus bearing No. KA-19-AD-1577 drove the vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Jeep KA21-4148 coming from the other direction as a result of which one Mr. Yusuf travelling in the Jeep sustained simple injury.

  • A case of Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 14-07-2006 at 1800 hrs near Kashi bettu Laila Village Belthangady Taluk, the driver of the KSRTC Bus No. KA-19-F-1747 drove the said vehicle rash and negligently and dashed to a pedestrian and caused head injury to him.

  • A case of Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 14-07-2006 at 1830 hrs at Church cross Belthangady Kasba village the Motorcycle rider bearing No. KA-21-J-4682 drove the said vehicle rash and negligently and dashed to another Motorcycle KA-21-H-6337 and caused greivous injury to him.

Attempt to Murder:

  • A case of Attempt to Murder has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 11-06-2006 at 1000 hrs at Poombaje, Sajepumuda Village, Bantwal Taluk one Mrs. Malathi H Shetty assaulted Mrs.Kushala Shetty in the latter's house and tried to kill her.

  • A case of Affray (Sec 160 IPC) has been registered in Ullal Police Station where in two persons viz Mahesh and Mohammed Famiz were found quarrelling and fighting with each other and disturbing the public peace in the locality on the evening of 14-07-2006 at Thokottu Junction Bus Stop of Permannur village Mangalore taluk.
Others:
  • A Case of Counterfeit currency notes has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station regarding the finding of 45 Counterfeit currency notes (of Rs.500/, Rs.100/ and Rs.50/ denomination) during daily cash transaction at ICICI Bank situated at Pai land Building P.M. Road Mangalore in the last four months.

    Unnatural Death Report:

    • A case of UDR has been reported in Moodabidri Police Station regarding the hanging of one Mr. Shankara due to heavy drunkenness.

    • A case of UDR has been reported in Moodabidri Police Station. On 14-07-2006 at 15.45 hrs one Mr.Narayana of Thodar Village slipped into the lake while having bath and as a result he was drowned and died.

    • A case of UDR has been reported in Ullal Police Station. On 14-07-2006 at 1130hrs near the sea shore in Ullal Village a dead body of some unknown person aged about 25yrs to 30yrs was found.
    Missing Persons

    • A Woman Missing case has been registered in Konaje Police Station. On 13-07-2006 at 1700hrs a woman by name Nimbevava S Kumbar left her house for evening walk and did not come back.
