In the ongoing drive against drug peddlers, the Mangalore South P.S Staff have arrested two habitual Ganja sellers and taken legal action against them. While one has been arrested under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act 1989 the other has been booked under preventive section of law (Sec.110 CrPC).
On 02-03-2006, PSI (L&O) South PS Sri Ravishankar and Staff arrested one Sadik 50 yrs S/o Ibrahim Velloor R/o Kannur Kerala from Goodshedde Road Uppinadhakke Mangalore and confiscated from his possession 200 grms of ganja packets. Accordingly he was arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
On the same day ( 02-03-2006) the same police team apprehended one Krishna Kutty 54 yrs S/o Jony R/o Mallapuram Kerala who happens to be a regular ganja seller in the Port area and took preventive action against him by booking him under sec 110 CrPC. He was remanded for judicial custody by the Taluk Executive Magistrate before whom he was produced by the Police.
