Externment of Trouble Makers

The Assistant Commissioner and Sub Divisional Magistrate Mangalore has externed total six persons - four from Bantwal taluk and two from Mangalore taluk for a period of six months for disturbing the peace and tranquility of the area and for indulging in anti social activities. The names of the persons so externed are

From Bantwal taluk:
1. Mohammed Haneef 23 yrs Maripalla Pudu village Bantwal taluk
2. Ramlan 25 yrs Maripalla Pudu village Bantwal taluk
3. Naushad 22 yrs Maripalla Pudu village Bantwal taluk
4. Hammi @ Hameed 23 yrs Maripalla Pudu village Bantwal taluk

From Mangalore taluk:
1. Prashant 22 yrs Valachil padu Arkula village Mangalore taluk
2. Rohit 19 yrs Adyar village Mangalore taluk

The externments have been done based on the reports of the jurisdictional police officers u/s 55 of the Karnataka Police Act. The persons so externed cannot enter the respective taluks for a period of six months w.e.f 14-11-2005.

Note: Sec 55 KP Act deals with removal of persons about to commit offences. According to this, whenever it shall appear to the jurisdictional Executive Magistrate that the movements or acts of any person are causing or calculated to cause alarm, danger or harm to person or property, he may direct such person to remove himself outside the area within the local limits of his jurisdiction within such time as the said officer may specify and not to enter or return to the said place from which he was directed to remove himself for the specific duration.
