The Puttur Rural Police led by PSI Sunil Naik, siezed a leopard skin at Gaalimukha of Nettanige Mudnoor Village, Puttur Taluk, today on 23-04-2006 at about 1 pm. On receiving credible information that a party was planning to sell the material to a prospective customer at Gaalimukha, the PSI immediately took his team to the spot and arrested three persons involved in the act. Their names are Shankar K, Shivaraj and Esubu all belonging to Kasargod. A case has been registered in this regard under Puttur Rural P S Cr. No. 45/06 U/s 39, 49 R/w 51 of Wild Life Protection Act1972 and 379 IPC and is under investigation.
