On receiving definite information, CPI Puttur Rural along with PSI Uppinangady and staff raided the premises of one Sattar of Biliyoor village on friday 6th jan, and seized a load of 6mm steel rods amounting to about eleven tons worth Rs 3.5 Lakhs in cash. The exact ownership of the material could not be established on enquiry at the spot and it is learnt that, two individuals Haneef and Hazeez of Karvel and Shantinagar under uppinangady limits brought this load and dumped it at the place saying that they would return back to transfer it into another vehicle. The police team immediately raided the residences of the suspects and found that both of them have since been absconding. A case has been registered under uppinangady PS Cr. No. 07/2005 U/S 41 (1) (d), 102 CrPC r/w 379 IPC. The material seized is now suspected to be stolen either from source or enroute and diverted to this place before reaching its final destination of disposal, the source of which is yet to be established and a police team is on the look out for the two accused. The case is under investigation.
