The written examination for the post of one FDA (First Division Assistant) in the District Police Cooperative Society was conducted today (08/01/2006) at the St Aloysius School Mangalore. Of the 108 candidates short listed for the examination, 90 candidates attended the examination. The examination which was of objective type carrying 100 marks was conducted by an independent and autonomous agency of Bangalore who will also do the evaluation work and give the result sheet to the recruitment committee of the Society whose President is the SPDK. This evaluation work is expected to take one week to ten days. Based on this result, candidates obtaining highest marks will be called for the interview.
The Cooperative Society that is functioning in the district for several decades provides soft financial loans to Police personnel who are its members. The recovery is made by deducting in their monthly salaries in easy instalments. While the SPDK acts as the President of the society, other selected officers and men of district police force act as board of directors. RPI DAR is the acting Secretary for the society and there is one post of FDA to look after the day to day administrative work of the society. This post fell vacant last year (Oct) when its incumbent retired from service on superannuation. Hence this recruitment process is being done as per the norms of the State Cooperative Societies Act.
The date of interview for the selected candidates will be intimated later.
