Mangalore City: Cyber Cafe Raided, two held on charges of pornography

On the evening of 28/01/2006, the Mangalore City Police on specific information raided a Cyber Cafe Center on KS Rao Road and arrested two persons on charges of displaying pornographic material on their computers. Details of the place raided are as under:

Name of the place: Cyber Fast, Utility Royal Tower, KS Rao Road, Mangalore
Persons arrested : 1. Devaraj Shet 48 Yrs Mangalore (Owner of the cyber cafe)
2. Kishore Naik 24 yrs Bunder Mangalore (Viewer)
Items Seized : 08 Computers, 08 CPUs, 08 Keyboards, 08 Mouse, 01 Web cam, 01 Head Phone and cash Rs 380/

In this connection, a case has been taken up in Mangalore North PS Cr No 29/06 U/s 292 (2) IPC and sec 67 of the Information Tachnology Act 2000. Both the accused have been produced before the jurisdictional court and have been remanded for judicial custody.
