On the report submitted to the Assistant Commissioner Puttur, by the Circle Inspector of Police Puttur Rural, the Assistant Commissioner has imposed the following prohibtory orders in limits of Kadaba and Kodimbala villages. The orders issued under section 144(1) of CrPC 1973 prohibits apart from those that are expressly mentioned in the Dictim of the institution., the offering of any kind of ritual or carrying of any animal or fowl for the porpose of animal sacrifice or the performance of such sacrifices at the Shri Durgambika temple Kadaba. The orders will not be applicable on any government functions or functions for which permission has been sought from the Executive Magistrate. The orders would be in force from 0800 hrs of 13-01-2006 to midnight of 15-01-2006.
It may be noted that a controversy had resulted in the organization of the annual Shri Kadambalithaaya purusha and Shiradi Daiva Neemothsava, with a break away faction objecting to the performance of a few rituals of the jathra within the temple premises, the administration of which is with the Dept of Endowments. The reason behind the breakup of these groups being internal politics and non inclusion of certain members in the organisation of the jathra. Even with the intervention of police officials along with the Endowment officer the deadlock could not be broken and therefore in view of maintenance of law and order and the peaceful conduct of the annual jathra, a report to the effect had to be placed before the Executive Magistrate and thereby the prohibitory orders. Adequate bundobasth arrangements have also been made by the police for the peaceful conduct of the jathra between 13-01-2006 and 15-01-2006.
