Four persons have been secured in connection with the murder of Goonadka Gafoor that occured on 06/10/06 at Bijai Mangalore. The names of the arrested are:
1. Vijaiprakash @ Pakku (24) R/o Kumpala Mangalore taluk
2. Padmaraj @ Paddu (23) Barebail Mangalore taluk
3. Gopala (25) R/o Belthangady
4. Pramod Suvarna (18) R/o Venoor Belthangady taluk
All the accused were secured on the night of 13/10/2006 by the Investigation Officer Mr. Chandrashekhar PI East PS from Mangalore city. Further one motor cycle used by the accused in the commission of this offence has also been seized by the police.
As per the direction of the government, further investigation of this case has been handed to the COD. In addition, the Polali murder case of Bantwal Rural PS has also been handed over to the COD as per the same governement directive. In this case, the Bantwal Police have already arrested 13 persons and recovered some weapons used in the commission of this offence.
