- A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 02/01/2009 at 0300 hrs near Mayura theatre at Puttur Town one Ramprasad driver of Alto car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-7339 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due car fell into a roadside ditch. As a result driver of car Ramprasad, Prakash (25) R/o Pakkalapade Meramajalu village Bantwal Taluk, Raghunath, Yogindra Prasad and Chandrahasa passengers who were traveling in the said car sustained grievous injuries. Further Ramprasad succumbed to his while on the way to hospital.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On 01/01/2009 at 0700 hrs near Kaikamba Harijana Colony at Bilinele village Puttur Taluk one driver of jeep bearing Reg. No. KA-12-A-4579 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Swaraj Mazda vehicle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-4690 due which jeep capsized. As a result Girish H.C. (37) R/o Chikka Ballapura District, Chennamma (57) and others who were traveling in the said jeep sustained serious injuries. Further they were admitted to Adarsha Hospital at Puttur Town where in one Chennamma succumbed to her injuries while under treatment on the same day.

On 01/01/2009 at 1630 hrs in front of Loyalla Hall at Kodialbail Mangalore one unknown driver of car bearing Reg. No. KA-05-Z-4873 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Praveen Kumar (38) R/o Kateel Mangalore a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries. The car driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

On 31/12/2008 at 2130 hrs in front of Ballal Garage at Nanthoor Mangalore one Udayakumara rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-U-4040 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a compound wall. As a result motorcycle rider Udayakumar and Ravindra P.S pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.

As a result rider of motorcycle one Praveen Fernandez (31) R/o Kutthethuru Mangalore sustained simple injuries.

As a result driver of Maruti Omni car one Balachandra J (45) R/o Herebandady village Puttur Taluk sustained grievous injuries.
