- A case of Burglary has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. In between 22/01/2009 at 2030 hrs and 23/01/2009 at 0800 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the shop belonging to one Ashok Kumar (46) R/o Mangalore by breaking the windows grill at P.M. Rao road Hampanakatte Mangalore and committed theft of cash Rs. 41,868/.

- A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 23/01/2009 at 1100 hrs near Meera Printers at Pumpwell Kankanady Mangalore one Selvam driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-01-C-9850 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-V-3346. As a result motorcycle rider one Mohan sustained serious injuries. Further Mohan was admitted to Omega hospital at Mangalore where he succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on same day.

On 23/01/2009 at 0945 hrs near Yashraj Bar at Falnir road Mangalore one unknown rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-R-9157 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Vamana Pai a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries. The motorcycle rider escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 22/01/2009 at 1845 hrs near Hosabettu Surathkal Mangalore one Ganesh driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-AA-9279 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a tempo bearing Reg. No. KA-20-A-8961. As a result tempo driver Ayub and Jayantha Prabhu (40) R/o Udupi District who was traveling in the said tempo sustained simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 23/01/2009 at 1330 hrs on NH-17 at NMPT main gate Panambur Mangalore one Ramesh Kumar driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. MP-19-HA-1591 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a tempo bearing Reg. No. KA-18-5292 driven by Nagaraja Poojary (26) R/o Kenjaru village Mangalore Taluk. As a result tempo vehicle got damaged. No casualty reported.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 23/01/2009 at 0815 hrs at Adkar Jalsoor village Sullia Taluk one Sadashiva driver of KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-2312 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Chennappa a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 23/01/2009 at 1945 hrs near Paichar junction at Sullia Taluk one Balakrishna rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-J-5462 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Bicycle. As a result Bicycle rider one Harish sustained simple injuries.

On 23/01/2009 at 1330 hrs accused Lokesh, Sachin, Prashantha, Laxmana, Prasanna and 50 others forming into unlawful assembly near Ambika Shop at Neharunagara Kabaka village Puttur Taluk and criminally restrained one Haidara (30) R/o Ninthikallu Kaldka village Sullia Taluk and assaulted him by hand and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

On 23/01/2009 at 1345 hrs accused Aboobakkar, Mohammed Gowf, Siddiq, Hyaris, Haidarali, Hameed, Nazeer, Samshuddin, Sahid Ali, Mohammed Siddiq and Majeed forming into unlawful assembly near Jayarama Shop at Neharunagara Kabaka village Puttur Taluk and assulted one Prasanna (21) R/o Eshwaramangala Paduvannur village Puttur Taluk by hand and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.
