On 17/02/2007 at 0045 hrs on credible information PSI Puttur Rural PS along with staff intercepted a Maruti car bearing Reg. No. KA-02-M-6102 at Sampya Aryapu village Puttur Taluk and seized 5,400 arrack sachets (each 100 ML) being transported illegally. The Maruti car has also been seized. The driver of the Maruti car however managed to escape.
Total worth of arrack sachets seized is Rs. 54,000/ and value of Maruti car Rs. 45,000/.
In this connection, a case has been registered in Puttur Rural PS under the Karnataka Excise Act.
