Puttur Town PS : 4 Arrested, Stolen Property Worth Rs. 2,62,402/ Recovered

The Puttur Police have arrested four persons in connection with a case of Burglary reported recently from Puttur town. Further, stolen property worth Rs 2,62,402 has been recovered from these accused. They were apprehended by the Police on 16/02/2007 at 1230 hrs near Puttur Railway Station. The names of the accused are:

1) Saiju @ Siju (29) R/o Vadagara Kallikote district Kerala State
(Involved in theft cases earlier and also been convicted)
2) Baava @ Pramod K.K. (39) R/o Pudunkana village Vadagara Taluk Kallikote district Kerala State.

3) Shaaji (30) R/o Talakolatthur village Kallikote district Kerala State.

4) Mohammed Salam (16) R/o Tarigudde Cikkamadnur village Puttur Taluk.

The accused had committed theft at Salmara of Puttur town in between 27/01/2007 and 29/01/2007 from the house of one Sirajul Hak (42) R/o Salmara Puttur Taluk by breaking the front door lock and had committed theft of gold ornaments and cash Rs. 1,45,000/ all in worth Rs. 3,00,000/. In this connection, a case of theft had already been registered in Puttur Town PS under Cr No 16/07 u/s 454, 457, 380 IPC.

While the first two accused have been taken into two days of police custody for further interrogation, the remaining two have been produced before the court and remanded for judicial custody.
