- A case under Murder has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 23/02/2007 at 1715 hrs accused Vasantha Gowda (35) R/o Vodla Bajathur village Puttur Taluk assaulted his relative Devaki with knife. He also assaulted her husband Babu Gowda with Knife who came to help Devaki. Further Devaki succumbed to her injuries while on the way to hospital while her husband Babu Gowda who had sustained serious injuries recovered in the hospital at Mangalore. The accused Vasantha Gowda has been arrested and the weapon recovered from him. The motive seems to be personal enmity.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 23/02/2007 at 1130 hrs near at Kodiyalbail Mangalore one driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-2500 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and applied break due which one auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-4393 which was behind the bus rammed to it from back. As a result auto rickshaw driver, Shwetha (24) R/o Kottara Mangalore and her mother who were traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained grievous injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Urwa Police Station. On 22/02/2007 at 2215 hrs at Chilimbi Ashokanagara one Guru Pradhan Shetty rider of unknown motorcycle drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner dashed against a car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-N-867 from behind which was driven by one Dr. Shrinivas R/o Chilimbi Ashokanagar Mangalore. As a result motorcycle rider one Guru Pradhan Shetty sustained simple injuries and both vehicles got damaged.

Unnatural Death Report: 02
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. One Sridhara Prabhu (52) accidentally slipped into the pond at Mahamayai Temple Mangalore while taking bath on 23/02/2007 at 1800 hrs and died due drowning.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 23/02/2007 in between 1000 hrs and 1030 hrs one Hemalatha w/o Ashoka R/o Tharigudde Chikkamudnur village Puttur Taluk committed suicide by hanging in her house owing to personal problem.

- A case of Girl missing has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. One Bhagirathi (17) R/o Mavinakuruti Bhatkal Taluk who was working as a housemaid in the house of one Dr. Surendra Shetty R/o Kaprigudde Mangalore has been found missing from 23/02/2007 at 0630 hrs.
