On 10/05/06 the District Magistrate DK District Mr.Parshwanath had passed an order to detain one Shabari @ Shabarinath under the Goonda Act (Karnataka Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Drug Offenders, Gamblers, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Slum Grabbers Act 1985). The order was based on the report of SPDK Mr. B. Dayananda and was executed on the detenu on 10/05/06 by the Anti Rowdy Squad and the detenu was sent to the Central Prison Bellary as per the direction of the District Magistrate.
Now, the Advisory Board that was constituted as per sub section (1) of section 9 of the Act has confirmed the order of the District Magistrate and has approved for his detention in Central Prison Bellary as an ordinary prisoner for 12 months from the date of his detention.
Before passing this order, the Advisory Board consisting of three serving Judges of the Karnataka High Court had concucted a sitting on 05/06/06 at Bangalore for which the detenu was also called and heard in person.
