On the evening of 30/06/06 Police team comprising of ASP Probationer Mr.Laburam and staff have raided two video game centers at Surthkal on credible informationof illegal betting acvtivity.
Of the two centers one Sai Video Game Center was located near MRPL Cargo Gate and the other Regency Video Game Center located at Kana Surthkal. Accordingly from both Video Game Centers Police party has seized Rs. 3581/, 18 Video Game Boxes, two generators and 1500 coins (which are used for Video Game) by arresting fifteen persons.
Owners of both Video Game Centers have also has been made accused in the case. One Ashok Rai owner of Regency Video Game Center has been arrested but owner of Sai Video Game Center Rajesh Shetty is absconding.
In this connection two cases have been taken up in Surthkal Police Station U/s 78, 79 & 80 of Karnataka Police Act. All the arrested persons have been released on bail and the cases are under investigation.
