Gambling Raid: Four Arrested, Rs. 580 / seized

A case of Gambling under Karnataka Police Act has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 29/05/2007 at 1615 hrs on credible information PSI Bantwal Rural PS along with staff conducted a raid at a public place near Mithamajalu Sajipamuda village Bantwal Taluk and seized 02 cocks, a motorcycle, cash Rs. 580/ and other articles all worth Rs. 18,000/ by arresting Poovappa (57), Ramesha (42), Dolphy Menezes (42) and Keshava (67) who were indulged in betting on cock fighting.

In this connection, a case has been registered against the arrested persons in Bantwal Town PS U/s 87 of the Karnataka Police Act.

On the night of 28-29/05/2007 some unknown culprits gained entry into the Battery shop at Mithabagilu Bantwal Town belonging to one Fedric Lobo R/o Kodambettu village Bantwal Taluk by breaking the door lock and committed theft of Batteries. The stolen property is worth Rs. 22,000/.

As a result motorcycle rider Rahazad (18) R/o Katipalla Mangalore and Kabeer pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries. Further she was admitted to the Wenlock hospital Mangalore and there while under treatment she succumbed to her injuries on 30/05/2007 at 1300 hrs.

On 25/05/2007 at 1445 hrs accused one Babu Poojary (55) R/o Irdhe Bettampady village Puttur Taluk abused Seetha (68) R/o Irdhe Bettampady village Puttur Taluk and Devaki in filthy language near their house and assaulted them with stone and wooden stick and also gave life threat to them. Motive seems to be civil dispute.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station where in one unknown Beggar was declared dead while under treatment on 25/05/2007 at 1330 hrs. The said unknown Beggar was seriously injured by a motorcycle in a road traffic accident on 21/05/2007 at 2230 hrs on NH 17 at Sankolige Someshwara village Mangalore Taluk and admitted to the Hospital. In this connection a case has already been registered in Ullal Police Station.

As a result Praveen motorcycle rider and Mohammad Riyaz (22) R/o Konaje village Mangalore Taluk pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained grievous injuries.

No. KA-19-B-2305 drove his vehicle in rash and negligent manner and dashed against an auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-826. As a result Sathish driver of auto rickshaw, Sumithra (18) R/o Karopadi village Bantwal Taluk, Harish and Mathesh who were traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained grievous injuries.

As a result Mohammad Saali driver of Maruti Auto car, Mohammad Haaji, Abdul Zafar, Moidin Mansoor who were traveling in the said car sustained grievous injuries and one Basavaraj traveling in the jeep also sustained grievous injuries.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 24/05/2007 at 1230 hrs at Odabai Sullia Town one Jayarama driver of Jeep bearing Reg. No. KA-19-M-4253 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Harihara Sharma (12) a pedestrian and caused him serious injuries. Further he was admitted to hospital at Mangalore where he succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on the same day at 1600 hrs.

No. KA-19-B-2781 drove his vehicle in backward direction in a rash and negligent manner and dashed a Qualis car belonging to one Hameed Partipady (48) R/o Manjanady village Mangalore Taluk that was parked in front of Upendra Transport building at Bandar Mangalore. On 08/05/2007 at 1700 hrs one Rukmini (27) R/o Kambettu Kolavoor village Mangalore Taluk sustained serious burn injuries while she was trying to light Kerosene stove in her house. Further she was admitted to the Fr. Muller hospital Mangalore and there while under treatment she succumbed to her injuries on 23/05/2007 at 2215 hrs.
  
• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Sullia Police Station. In between 23/05/2007 at 1500 hrs and 24/05/2007 at 1000 hrs one Ramachandra Gowda N. (54) R/o Nelluru Kemraje village Sullia Taluk accidentally slipped into the river while walking at Alape Neluru Kemraje village Sullia Taluk and died due drowning.
  
• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Subramanya Police Station. On the night of 24-25/05/2007 one Manjunatha aged about 65 yrs to 70 yrs was found dead in his room at Velankani Sadana Subramanya village Sullia Taluk. The death seems to be due to some illness.

Gambing Raid: 25 Arrested, Rs. 4,770 seized

A case of Gambling under Karnataka Police Act has been registered in Vittal Police Station. On 24/05/2007 at 1700 hrs on credible information ASP Puttur Sub division along with staff conducted a raid at Kula village, Bantwal Taluk and seized 37 cocks, 2 cars, a Jeep, 9 motorcycles, 16 auto rickshaws, a scooter and cash Rs. 4,770 by arresting 25 persons who were indulging in betting on cock fighting.

In this connection, a case has been registered against the arrested persons in Vittal PS U/S 87 and 93 of the Karnataka Police Act.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Urwa Police Station. On 18/05/2007 at 2145 hrs on NH 17 near KPT Mangalore one driver of Maruti car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-N-9389 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one unknown pedestrian due which he got serious injuries and died on the spot. The Maurti car driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
  
• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Vittal Police Station. On 19/05/2007 at 0630 hrs at Soorikumeru Mani village Bantwal Taluk one Abdul Khadar driver of Lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-44-982 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a bus bearing Reg. No. KA-21-C-4477. As a result Abdul Khadar driver of lorry sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. Further driver of bus Ananda Poojary (53) and 3 other passengers who were traveling in the said bus sustained simple injuries.

As a result motorcycle rider Razak and pillion rider Rajesh Kamath (28) R/o Kodikal Mangalore sustained grievous injuries. The Tipper driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

On 18/05/2007 at 1730 hrs on NH 17 near Adankudru Jappinamogaru village Mangalore Taluk one Melwin Castelino rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-R-3219 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Edward D’Souza (47) R/o Jappinamogaru village Mangalore Taluk a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries. Further motorcycle rider one Melwin Castelino also sustained simple injuries.

On 16/05/2007 at 2130 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the Shri Bhramarambhika Temple at Matadakani Bolur Mangalore by breaking the door lock and committed theft of gold ornaments, silver articles and Kanike Hundi. Worth of stolen properties yet to be estimated.
  
• A case under Burglary has been registered in Bajpe Police Station. On the night of 17-18/05/2007 some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Pakruddin B.K. (47) R/o Near Addoor School Adduru village Mangalore Taluk by breaking the door lock and committed theft of gold ornaments and other articles all in worth Rs. 24,000/.

(19) and Ananda Gowda (21) both residences of Savanoor Taluk Haveri district who were working in side the KISCO Factory committed theft of Pig Iron pieces (70 Kgs) worth Rs. 1,500/ and were caught with property by the Security Staff of KISCO Factory Panambur and handed over to Panambur Police Station along with complaint.

On 18/05/2007 at 1100 hrs at Deraje Aranthodu village Sullia Taluk one Sheshashayana (40) accidentally fell down from a tree while cutting the branches of the tree and got serious injuries. Further he was admitted to Govt. hospital at Sullia where he succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on the same day

On 14/05/2007 at 2130 hrs one accused Pakira, Ravichandra, Kusumadhara and Monta abused one Kujumba (45) R/o Kandikatte Balila village Sullia Taluk in filthy language and assaulted him with wooden stick near his house and damaged his house. They aslo assaulted his wife and his daughter Baby with wooden stick who came to help Kujumba and gave life threat to them owing to trivial issue.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station where in one Abdul Samad (23) R/o Aladangady Belthangady Taluk has been declared dead while under treatment on 15/05/2007 at 0900 hrs. The said Abdul Samad was seriously injured by a motorcycle in a road traffic accident on 12/05/2007 at 2300 hrs near Halekote Belthangady Town and admitted to the Hospital at Mangalore. In this connection a case has already been registered in Belthangady Police Station.

No. KA-20-J-3736 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Appi Poojarthi (80) R/o Karnire village Mangalore Taluk a pedestrian and caused her grievous injuries. Further she succumbed to her injuries while on way to hospital.

On 13/05/2007 at 1215 hrs on NH-48 at Kannuru village Mangalore Taluk one unknown driver of Swarj Mazda lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-19-AE-7866 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-V-2843 from behind. As a result one Abubakkar rider said motorcycle sustained serious injuries. Further he was admitted to hospital at Mangalore where he succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on the same at 1755 hrs. The lorry driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
