Daily Crime Incidents for April 04, 2007

The following are the crimes reported in D.K. District during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 04/04/2007.

Murder: 01
  • A case under Murder has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 31/03/2007 dead body of one Rama (18) R/o Puduvettu village Belthangady Taluk was found in Neriya River at Puduvettu village Belthangady Taluk. As there was some suspicion regarding the cause of death, it was taken as death under suspicious circumstances and investigation taken up. During course of this investigation, it was revealed that the deceased Rama was actually strangulated by his friend Tiruma R/o Puduvettu village Belthangady taluk in a drunken brawl. Hence the case has been altered to that of Murder. The said Tiruma has also been arrested. .

  • A case under Rioting, Criminal trespass, Hurt, along with Dacoity has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 03/04/2007 at 2230 hrs accused Sukumara, Yashawantha and four others forming into an unlawful assembly criminally trespassed into the Digital Infonet office at Kallimaru Bantwal Town belonging to one Prasanth Shetty (23) R/o Paranki village Belthangady Taluk and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him by hand and with wooden stick and also took away his gold chain and a mobile phone all in worth Rs. 17,000/.

Burglary: 01

  • A case under Burglary has been registered in Bajpe Police Station. On 03/04/2007 in between 0900 hrs and 1330 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Nanjamayya N.A (59) R/o Paduperara village Mangalore Taluk by breaking the front door lock and committed theft of gold ornaments and cash Rs. 40, 000/ all in worth Rs. 1,07,000/.

Crime against Women: 01

  • A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Vittal Police Station. On 02/04/2007 at 2100 hrs accused Narayana Poojary abused one Padmavathi (33) w/o Balakrishna R/o Pallathadi Kula village Bantwal Taluk in filthy language near her house and assaulted her and her husband with knife and also gave life threat to them owing to civil dispute.

Fatal: 02

  • A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 03/04/2007 at 1300 hrs on NH 17 at Kumpala junction Someshwara village Mangalore Taluk one driver of Maruti Alto car bearing Reg. No. KL-18-A-5389 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-U-877. As a result motorcycle rider one Nooruddin R/o Uppala Kasaragod district Kerala State sustained grievous injuries and succumbed to his injuries while on the way to hospital. Further the driver of Maruti car and a passenger in the said car also sustained simple injuries.
  • A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 04/04/2007 at 1415 hrs at Gadipadu Moodukonaje village Mangalore Taluk one Shivakiran driver of Tata Sumo bearing Reg. No. KA-19-M-6517 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle. As a result motorcycle rider one Suresh @ Surendra sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. Further Shubhakra (26) pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.

Non-Fatal: 06

  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 02/04/2007 at 1630 hrs at Pandeshwar Mangalore one driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-20-3197 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-03-F-1593. As a result motorcycle rider one Imtiaz Ahmed (28) R/o Bolar Mangalore sustained simple injuries.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Barke Police Station. On 03/04/2007 at 1200 hrs at Ballalbagh Mangalore one driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-20-A-1661 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Maruti Alto car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-P-9028 driven by one Vittala B. (62) R/o Kavoor Mangalore. As a result car got damaged. No casualties reported.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 02/04/2007 at 1630 hrs at Mukkacheri Ullal village Mangalore Taluk one unknown rider of motor cycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-V-9346 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Nafisathulla Badriya (03) R/o Mukkacheri Ullal village Mangalore Taluk a pedestrian and caused her grievous injuries. The motorcycle rider escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 03/04/2007 at 1845 hrs on NH 17 near Thokkottu Ullal village Mangalore Taluk one Naasir driver of car bearing Reg. No. KL-13-L-9402 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Lokesh Naik (32) R/o Kotekar village Mangalore Taluk a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 02/04/2007 at 1500 hrs near Ovel Petrol pump at Bala village Mangalore one Balaraj driver of Tractor bearing Reg. No. KA-19-P-1725 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-V-1821. As a result motorcycle rider one Sathisha and pillion rider one Yashavantha (22) R/o Karkala Taluk Udupi district sustained simple injuries.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Puttur Rural Police Station. On 03/04/2007 at 2030 hrs at Sorake Sarve village Puttur Taluk one Khadari Beary driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-21-7574 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost his control over his vehicle due which capsized. As a result one Udaya (17) R/o Kuria village Puttur Taluk who was traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained grievous injuries.

Unnatural Death Report: 06

  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 03/04/2007 at 2000 hrs one unknown female aged about 30 yrs fell down due to some illness at K S. Rao road Mangalore. Further she was admitted to the hospital where she was declared dead while under treatment on the same day.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 26/03/2007 at 1945 hrs one Sunitha (18) R/o Valpadi Panapila village Mangalore Taluk sustained serious burn injuries while trying to light a kerosene lamp. She was admitted to A.J. hospital Mangalore where she succumbed to her injuries while under treatment on 03/04/2007 at 1115 hrs.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Vittal Police Station. On 03/04/2007 at 1530 hrs one Subbanna Shettigar (65) R/o Kanyana village Bantwal Taluk while working near his house accidentally fell down and died on the spot. The death seems to be due some illness.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Vittal Police Station. On 02/04/2007 at 2130 hrs one Sanjeeva (40) R/o Alike village Bantwal Taluk consumed poison in his house owing to personal problem. Further he was admitted to Govt. hospital at Puttur where he was declared dead while under treatment on 03/04/2007 at 0130 hrs.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 02/04/2007 at 0930 hrs one unknown male aged about 55 to 60 yrs accidentally fell on the road at Dharmasthala Belthangady Taluk. Further he was admitted to Govt. hospital Belthangady where he was declared dead while under treatment on 03/04/2007 at 1215 hrs.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 03/04/2007 in between 0545 hrs and 0830 hrs one unknown male aged about 35 years was found on Railway track at Chelaru Surathkal Mangalore Taluk. It seems to be a case of suicide.
