- A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 18/10/2007 at 1515 hrs on NH-48 at Naguri Kankanady Mangalore one Mansoor driver of Tipper Lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-4118 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a new Hero Honda motorcycle driven by one Naveen Kumar (29) R/o Kairangala village Bantwal Taluk. As a result one Lathisha pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 18/10/2007 at 1200 hrs at Shivabhag Kadri Mangalore one unknown driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-6156 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-R-7841. As a result motorcycle rider one Neelayya R/o Padil Mangalore sustained simple injuries. The auto rickshaw driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 18/10/2007 at 1100 hrs at Padilu Puttur Town one Sidique driver of car bearing Reg. No. KA-21-A-06 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-H-5553. As a result Seetharama rider of motorcycle and Rajiva M. (31) R/o Kowkarady Puttur Taluk pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.

- A case under Criminal intimidation, Hurt along with Mischief of causing damage has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 18/10/2007 at 2000 hrs at Adarsha hotel at Surathkal Mangalore accused Sachin Poojary, Sandeep Poojary and other two persons abused one Bhoja Puthran (60) R/o Kukkandur village Karkala Taluk Udupi district in filthy language and assaulted him with wooden stick and cool drink bottle and damaged the furniture of the said hotel and also gave life threat to him owing to personal enmity.
- A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 18/10/2007 at 2000 hrs at Adarsha hotel at Surathkal Mangalore accused Unnikrishnan, Rama and Jagga abused one Sachin Poojary (28) R/o Surathkal Mangalore in filthy language and assaulted him with sword and wooden stick owing to personal enmity.
- A case under Hurt has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 18/10/2007 at 2015 hrs accused Ashraf and other two persons assaulted one Shrikanth Bhandary (29) R/o Thekkigudde Panemangalore village Bantwal Taluk with iron rod near his house owing to trivial issue.
- A case under Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace along with Hurt has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 18/10/2007 at 1715 hrs accused one Keshava Gowda criminally restrained one Devaraja (40) R/o Koyyuru village Belthangady Taluk at Sunnalu Koyyuru village Belthangady Taluk and assaulted him with stone owing to financial dispute.

- A case under the Essential Commodities Act along with Liquefied Petroleum gas Regulation of supply and Distribution Act has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 18/10/2007 at 1130 hrs PSI (Crime) Bantwal Town along with his staff on credible information conducted a raid on open place near the house belonging to one Ismail R/o Kailar Kavalapadur village Bantwal Taluk and seized Kerosine (735 lts.) of worth Rs. 20,000/ that were stored illegally there by arresting Mohammed Rafique, Ismail, Zakhariya and Asif. It is learnt that the accused used to divert the kerosene being supplied from the Government and sell in the black market at higher rates and make profit.
Unnatural Death Report: 03
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 18/10/2006 at 0800 hrs one Unknown male dead body aged about 25 to 30 yrs was found at Thanneerubhavi Mangalore. It seems to be a case of suicide by hanging.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 16/10/2006 at 1400 hrs one Gopala Shetty (40) attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison at Dharmastala village Belthangady Taluk. Further he was admitted to hospital where he was declared dead while under treatment on 18/10/2007 at 2030 hrs.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 19/10/2006 at 0015 hrs one Girija (70) R/o Hantemajalu Dharmastal village Belthangady Taluk got serious burn injuries while trying to light a stove at her house and she was admitted to Fr. Muller Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries while under treatment on the same day at 2030 hrs.
