Daily Crime Incidents for October 28, 2007

The following are the crimes reported in D.K. District during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 28/10/2007.

Murder: 01
  • A case under Murder along with Robbery has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On 27/10/2007 at 1100 hrs accused Girisha and his wife Parvathi who were working in the house belonging to one Vani (33) R/o Kuvecharu Ramakunja village Puttur Taluk gained entry into the said house and they had tied Vani with rope and murdered her grand mother Bharathi by strangulation and then had taken away gold ornaments and cash Rs. 23,000/. The total value of property taken away was estimated to be Rs. 25, 00,000/.

Burglary: 01

  • A case of Burglary has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. In between 26/10/2007 at 2130 hrs and 27/10/2007 at 0930 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the Mobicom Mobile shop at Kodiyalbail Mangalore belonging to one Yahya Shek Ahamad (28) R/o Deralakatte Mangalore by breaking the shutter lock and committed theft of 19 mobile phones all in worth Rs. 80,000/.

Fatal: 01

  • A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 27/10/2007 at 2200 hrs on NH 48 at Naguri Kankanady Mangalore one Narayana driver of KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-01-F-7913 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against pedestrians Rajathi and Bhagalakshmi and caused them grievous injuries. Further Rajathi succumbed to her injuries while on the way to hospital.

Non-Fatal: 03

  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Urwa Police Station. On 27/10/2007 at 1400 hrs at Ladyhill Mangalore one Saiman S. Chemmanthara rider of Bajaj motorcycle bearing Reg. No. TN-38-AB-8048 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Yamaha motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-H-998 from behind. As a result one Shekara Bangera (44) R/o Bolur Mangalore rider of Yamaha motorcycle sustained simple injuries.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 27/10/2007 at 2145 hrs near KPT at Mangalore one Dolphin Pinto driver of Tempo bearing Reg. No. KA-19-AA-7300 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Maruti car baring Reg. No. KA-19-MA-1277 from behind driven by one Prakash Nayar. As a result one Lakshmi Shenoy R/o Padavinangady Mangalore who was traveling in the said car sustained simple injuries and car also got damaged.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Puttur Rural Police Station. On 27/10/2007 at 1730 hrs at Parpunja Volamogaru village Puttur Taluk one unknown driver of Tata Indica car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-MK-5555 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against pedestrians Geetha and Praveen and caused them simple injuries. The car driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

  • A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Venoor Police Station. On 27/10/2007 at 1930 hrs at Janatha colony Venoor village Belthangady Taluk accused one Chennu one abused one Sundara in filthy language and assaulted him with sickle owing to personal enmity.

  • A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 27/10/2007 at 0815 hrs on credible information PSI Sullia PS along with staff conducted a raid on open place at Gandhinagara Sullia Town and seized 12 liquor bottles (each 180 ML) of worth Rs. 300/ by arresting one Mudara (33) who was selling these liquor bottles illegally there.
  • A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Vittal Police Station. On 27/10/2007 at 1700 hrs on credible information PSI Vittal PS along with staff conducted a raid on open place at Salethooru Kolnadu village Bantwal Taluk and seized 12 boxes of liquor bottles (each 180 ML). How ever accused Victor D’Souza was managed to escape from the scene.

Unnatural Death Report: 02

  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 27/10/2007 at 0700 hrs one unknown male dead body aged about 45 yrs to 48 yrs was found in Natravathi river at Sajipa Munnuru village Bantwal Taluk. It seems to be a case of drowning.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. In between 22/10/2007 at 1100 hrs and 27/10/2007 at 0630 hrs one Bhoja Poojary (43) R/o Pudu village Bantwal Taluk accidentally slipped into the pond at Govindatota Kodman village Bantwal Taluk while taking bath and died due to drowning.

Missing Persons: 01

  • A case of Girl missing has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. One Shilpa Menezes (18) R/o Jodukala Laila village Belthangady Taluk left her house on 26/10/2007 at 0900 hrs and did not return her house there after. She has been found missing since then.
