On 23/04/2008 at 0815 hrs two unknown culprits entered into the house belonging to one Sowkur Suresh Bhat (71) R/o Vaamana Ashrama Samadhi Matta Mangalore and pretended as a customer and then took away gold ornaments all in worth Rs. 18, 630/.

- A case under Cruelty by husband and relatives, Dowry Prohibition act along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Vittal Police Station on the complaint of one Akila B. (18) R/o Sharadha Vihara Alike village Bantwal Taluk. In the complaint it is alleged that accused Prashantha Narayana B. (husband) and his relatives Padmanabha Bhat, Hemalatha P. Bhat, Girish gave mental and physical harassment to one Akhila to bring more dowry and on 21/04/2008 they also gave life threat to her.

- A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 23/04/2008 at 0915 hrs near Shubhagiri Hall at Iddya village Mangalore Taluk one Varadaraj Shetty driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-7749 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a M-80 motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-S-1833. As a result M-80 motorcycle rider one Srinivasa (45) R/o Siddaramata Chikkamagaluru District sustained serious injuries. Further he was admitted to KMC hospital at Manipal Udupi District where he succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on the same day at 1910 hrs.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 22/04/2008 at 2245 hrs on NH 48 at Naguri Kankanady Mangalore one driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-1928 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Praveen Machado (33) a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries.

On 23/04/2008 at 1900 hrs PSI Belthangady PS along with his staff on credible information conducted a raid on house belonging to one Lakshmana Gowda R/o Baredottu Mittabagilu village Belthangady Taluk and seized a Local made Gun by arresting one Lakshmana Gowda.
- A case under NDPS Act has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 23/04/2008 at 2000 hrs hrs on credible information PSI Bantwal Town PS along with staff arrested Ashraf @ Chotemiya (25) R/o Ammbemar Pudu village Bantwal Taluk and Abdul Salam (29) R/o Bollari Thumbe village Bantwal Taluk and seized 345 grams of Ganja from their possession. Police apprehended them while they were selling Ganja at Farangipete Pudu village Bantwal Taluk.
