Crime against Women: 01

  • A case under Cruelty by husband and his relatives, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station on the complaint of one Pushpa (26) W/o Harisha R/o Sera Kadeshivalaya village Bantwal Taluk. In the complaint it is alleged that on 15/12/2008 at 1300 hrs accused Harish (husband) and his relatives Chandravathi and Shilpa abused her in filthy language and gave physical and mental harassment to her to bring more dowry and assaulted her by hand and they also gave life threat to her.

Fatal: 01

  • A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mulki Police Station where in one Guruvappa Anchan R/o Chitrapu Mangalore Taluk was declared dead while under treatment on 15/12/2008 at 1400 hrs. The said Guruvappa Anchan sustained seriously injured by a scooter in a road traffic accident on 09/12/2008 at 1000 hrs on NH 17 at Karnadu Mangalore Taluk and admitted to AJ Hospital at Mangalore. In this connection a case has already been registered in Mulki Police Station.

Non-Fatal: 04

  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 15/12/2008 at 1215 hrs at Navabharath Circle Mangalore one driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-7670 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which auto rickshaw capsized. As a result one Sandeep Kamath (30) R/o Batkal who was traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained grievous injuries.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 15/12/2008 at 0815 hrs on NH 48 at Alape Mangalore one Mahesh (26) R/o Vijayanagar Alape Mangalore passenger of the bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-C-3335 while getting down from the bus, the driver of bus moved the bus in a negligent manner due which he fell down from the bus and sustained grievous injuries.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Uppinangadi Police Station. On 14/12/2008 at 1315 hrs at Paprikallu Kaukradi village Puttur Taluk one driver of KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-2214 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-K-3217. As a result motorcycle rider one Raghva S (26) R/o Nrajalu Suruli Belalu village Belthangady Taluk sustained grievous injuries.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On 15/12/2008 at 1430 hrs at Mardhala Bantra village Puttur Taluk one driver of Lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-12-3638 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-K-2432. As a result motorcycle rider Purandara (27) R/o Galipettu Charvaka village Puttur Taluk and pillion rider Koragappa Gowda sustained grievous injuries.

  • A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 15/12/2008 at 1530 hrs accused Geethanda Shetty and two unknown persons abused one Gopala Krishna (30) R/o Mangaladevi Mangalore in filthy language near Jeppu Market and assaulted him with stone owing to trivial issue.

  • A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Vittal Police Station. On 14/12/2008 at 2015 hrs on credible information ASI Vittal PS along with staff intercepted an Alto car bearing Reg. No. KL-54-7009 at Saradka Kepu Village Bantwal Taluk and seized 350 packets liquor (each 100 Ml) worth Rs. 5,000/ from the car, which was being transported illegally there. State. However accused Ashru @ Ashraf, Latheef @ Abdul Latheef and Bayikatte Azeez were managed to escape from the scene. The said Alto car has also been seized. The total value of property seized is worth Rs. 3, 05,000/.


Unnatural Death Report: 05

  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 15/12/2008 at 1245 hrs one Shailaja R/o Bhatnagar Thokkottu Mangalore committed suicide in her house by hanging owing to health problem.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 15/12/2008 at 1230 hrs one Vijay Kumar (30) R/o Kodangallu Pranthya village Mangalore Taluk accidentally slipped into the pond at Alangaru temple at Moodabidre Mangalore Taluk and died due to drowning.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Masngalore Rural Police Station. On 06/12/2008 at 0900 hrs one Kalyani (60) R/o Megina mane Adyar Mangalore Taluk attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison owing to personal problem. Futher he was admitted to Fr. Mullers hospital at Mangalore were she declared dead while under treatment on 15/12/2008 at 0915 hrs.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bajpe Police Station. In between 14/12/2008 and 15/12/2008 at 1000 hrs one Janardhana Moolya (45) R/o Pernaguri Badagulipadi village Mangalore Taluk committed suicide near his house by hanging owing to personal problem.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 15/12/2008 at 1330 hrs one Suvina (18) R/o Vinobhanagara Jaalsuru village Sullia Taluk committed suicide in her house by hanging owing to health problem.

Missing Persons: 01

  • A case of Girl missing has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 09/12/2008 at 0600 hrs one Geetha (22) R/o CRC Colony Bellare village Sullia Taluk left her house and did not return to her house there after. She has been found missing since then.
