On 24/12/2008 at 1630 hrs PSI Bantwal Rural PS along with his staff on credible information intercepted a Lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-25-9459 at Hosamar Bantwal Town and seized 27 wooden logs that were being transported illegally by arresting .

- Aseef (30) R/o Kumarangala K.C road Thalapady Mangalore
However another accused Basheer T.M R/o Deralakatte managed to escape from the scene.
The Lorry has also been seized. The total value of property seized is worth Rs. 3,80,000/. In this connection, a case has been registered in Bantwal Rural PS under the Karnataka Forest Act.
