- A case under Attempt to Theft has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 17/01/2007 at 2315 hrs accused one Devaraj (29) R/o Namakkal Selam district Tamilunadu State was caught redhand by CPI Surathkal PS while he attempted to commit theft of diesel from a Tanker bearing Reg. No. KA-01-7091 that was parked near Baba Tankar Yard at Janatha Colony Idya village Mangalore. An empty Plastic can (10 liter) and a small pipe were recovered from him . Further he has been arrested and remanded for judicial custody.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 17/01/2007 at 0900 hrs near Jokatte cross Baikampady Mangalore one Anwar rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Q-9120 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against another motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Q-8034. As a result Abdul Khadar rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Q-8034 sustained grievous injuries. The rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Q-9120 escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 17/01/2007 at 1930 hrs at Ujire Town Belthangady Taluk accused Shekara Gowda rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-J-5011 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Vijaya a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries. Further motorcycle rider lost control over his vehicle due to which the motorcycle capsized and motorcycle rider Shekar Gowda also sustained simple injuries.
