  • A case under Burglary has been registered in Urwa Police Station. In between 20/01/2007 at 2000 hrs and 21/01/2007 at 1915 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry gain into the house of one Radha Rao R/o Bejai Mangalore by breaking the door lock and committed theft of gold ornaments (86 grams) and silver articles all in worth Rs. 90,000/.

Road Traffic Accidents: 03

Fatal: 01
  • A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station where in one Divakara (26) was declared dead while under treatment on 22/01/2007 at 0540 hrs. The said Divakara was seriously injured by a motorcycle in a road traffic accident on 17/01/2007 at 2130 hrs near Gandhi park Uppinangady Puttur Taluk and admitted to the Wenlock hospital Mangalore. In this connection a case has already been registered in Uppinangady Police Station.

Non-Fatal: 02
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 20/01/2007 at 1515 hrs at Navabharth circle Mangalore one rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-S-2588 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against another motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-V-1675. As a result one Vijaya Kumar (26) R/o Bejai Mangalore rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-V-1675 sustained grievous injuries.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Konaje Police Station. On 21/01/2007 at 1100 hrs at Sarkundel Naringana village Mangalore Taluk one Areef driver of Jeep bearing Reg. No. KA-12-M-4048 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-803. As a result one Mohammed S. M. driver of said auto rickshaw sustained simple injuries.

  • A case under Hurt has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 21/01/2007 at 1500 hrs near Muttappa Gudi Mangalore accused auto rickshaw driver Anil (28) R/o Jeppu Mangalore and other auto rickshaw drivers assaulted one Gourav Kumar Singh (28) R/o Rest house Southern Railway Mangalore by and hand and with stone. The motive seems to be dispute regarding payment of hire for the auto rickshaw.
  • A case under Hurt has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 21/01/2007 at 0800 hrs accused Ummar and his wife Abeesha assaulted one Abdul Khadar (45) R/o Kolpejalu house Thanirpantha village Belthangady Taluk near the house with sickle. The motive seems to be civil dispute between Ummar and his brother Abdul Khadar.
  • A case under Criminal restraint along with Hurt has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 21/01/2007 at 2030 hrs accused Vincy, Bharath, Raju and Thimma criminally restrained one Shekara Shetty (39) R/o Chikkamudnoor village Puttur Taluk near Jadekallu Chikkamudnoor village Puttur Taluk and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him with iron rod and sickle owing to personal enmity.

Unnatural Death Report: 02
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 21/01/2007 at 1630 hrs one Mohammed Nazir (24) R/o Madikeri Kodagau district accidentally slipped and washed away in the sea while he was taking bath at Seashore Someshwara Ullal and died due to drowning.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. In between 20/01/2007 at 2400 hrs and 21/01/2007 at 0600 hrs one Krishnappa Shettigar (38) R/o Bailu house Uppinangady Puttur Taluk committed suicide by consuming poison near his house owing to personal problem.
Missing Persons: 01
  • A case of Man missing has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 21/01/2007 at 1530 hrs at Someshwara Sea shore Ullal Mangalore Taluk one Prathap R/o Madikeri accidentally slipped and washed away in the sea while he was playing at seashore Someshwara and found missing. His body has also not been traced so far.
