• A case of Burglary has registered in Belthangady Police Station. In between 04/08/2007 at 1930 hrs and 05/08/2007 at 0700 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the Sri Mahishamardhini Temple at Parenki village Belthangady Taluk by removing roof tiles and committed theft of a idol of Shiva, silver ornaments and Kanike Hundi all in worth Rs. 12,000/.

Cheating/ Criminal Breach of Trust: 01

• A case under Criminal breach of Trust along with Cheating has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 05/08/2007 at 0030 hrs PSI Puttur Town PS along with his staff on credible information raid on a Ration store at Bhramanagara Puttur Town and seized a Lorry bearing Reg. No. CNG-6242 and 23 Rice bags (each 50 kgs) that was transported illegally. In this connection Prakash Pai (45), Shiva Prasad (48) Mohammed Kunchi (42) and Narasing Rai (64) were arrested. It is learnt that the accused persons used to divert the Rice being supplied from the Government to the Benifisheres and cheated the Government by selling in the black market at higher rates and make profit.

• A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Urwa Police Station. On 04/08/2007 at 2000 hrs accused Ganesh and Lava both residents of Kateel Mangalore abused one Karkala Yadava R/o Adkabare Bajpe Manglore Taluk in filthy language while he was traveling in a bus at Lalbagh Mangalore and assaulted him by hand and also gave life threat to him owing trivial issue.

• A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 05/08/2007 at 1730 hrs on credible information PI Puttur Town PS along with staff conducted a raid on a open place at Kudkoli Kemminje village Puttur Taluk and seized 127 arrack sachets (each 100 ml) of worth Rs. 1,350/ by arresting one Subraya Kulal H. (58) R/o Ariyadka village Puttur Taluk who was selling these arrack sachets illegally there. However another accused Honnappa managed to escape from the place.
  
• A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 05/08/2007 at 1625 hrs on credible information PSI Belthangady PS along with staff conducted a raid on open place near Gerukatte Kaliya village Belthangady Taluk and seized 18 liquor bottles (each 180 ml) of worth Rs. 500/, 19 empty liquor bottles and cash Rs. 220/ by arresting one Sathish Kumar (32) R/o Gerukatte Kaliya village Belthangady Taluk who was selling these liquor bottles illegally there.

Unnatural Death Report: 01

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 05/08/2007 in between 1700 hrs and 1930 hrs one Sanjeeva Belchada (60) R/o Bakimaru Cheluru village Bantwal Taluk accidentally fell down from a Palm tree near his house while removing toddy and got seriously injuries and died on spot.

• A case of Girl missing has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. One Rabiya (20) R/o Bhadravathi Shimoga district who was working as a housemaid in the house of one Abdul Raheem R/o Hemitage apartments Falnir Mangalore has been found missing from 03/08/2007 at 2030 hrs.
