The following are the crimes reported in D.K. District during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 14/08/2007.

  • A case under Burglary has been registered in Uppinangady Police station. In between 11/08/2007 at 1900 hrs and 13/08/207 at 0800 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the shop belonging to one Mayilappa T. (62) R/o Kodange Nadle village Belthangady Taluk by breaking the shutter lock and committed theft of Cigarettes and other grocery items and cash Rs. 1,000/. The worth of stolen property is Rs. 8,500/.

  • A case of Ordinary Theft has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 13/08/2007 at 1430 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of Iron Gate that was fixed to the compound of the Honey Prevention Center at Gandhi nagar Laila village Belthangady Taluk. The total worth of stolen property is Rs. 6,000/.

Motor Vehicle Theft: 01

  • A case of MV Theft has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 13/08/2007 1230 hrs one Hyder who was working as cleaner in Lorry bearing Reg. No. CTX--5176 committed theft of lorry belonging to one Raviraj Shetty (32) R/o Yelatthur Jatthabettu Mangalore while it was parked near Deepak Petrol Pump at Panambur Mangalore.

Fatal: 01

  • A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Konaje Police Station where in one Fathima (60) R/o Manjanaady Village Mangalore Taluk declared dead while under treatment on 13/08/2007 at 1435 hrs. The said Fathima was seriously injured by a Bus in a road traffic accident on 07/08/2007 at 1410 hrs at Konaje Village Mangalore Taluk and admitted to the Highland at Mangalore. In this connection a case has already been registered in Konaje Police Station.

  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 13/08/2007 at 1600 hrs at Somanthadka Mundaje village Belthangady Taluk one Santhosh driver of Maruti Suzuki Wagon R car bearing Reg. No. KA-18-M-7649 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Gummanna Gowda R/o Belthangady a pedestrian and him caused grievous injuries.

  • A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt, Abetment along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Urwa Police Station. On 12/08/2007 at 1700 hrs at Kodikal Ashoknagar Mangalore accused Victor Pinto, Agnes Crasta and A.L. Pinto criminally trespassed into the land belonging to one Herald Crasta (50) R/o Kodikal Ashoknagar Mangalore and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him by hand and with iron rod and also gave life threat to him owing to civil dispute.
  • A case under Criminal restraint, Mischief of causing damage along with Hurt has been registered in Urwa Police Station. On 12/08/2007 at 1700 hrs at Kodikal Ashoknagar Mangalore accused Herald Crasta, Henry Crasta and another one criminally restrained one Victor Pinto (62) R/o Kodikal Ashoknagar Mangalore and assaulted him by hand and also damaged the glass of auto rickshaw belonging to Victor Pinto by pelting stone owing to civil dispute.

  • A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Puttur Rural Police Station. On 13/08/2007 at 1930 hrs on credible information PSI Puttur Rural PS along with staff conducted raid on a General store at Bulerikatte Balnadu village Puttur Taluk and seized 136 illegal arrack sachets (each 100 ML) and drum by arresting Rajendra Shetty (47) R/o Balnadu village Puttur Taluk and Vasu (25) R/o Balnadu village Puttur Taluk. The total value of seized property is worth Rs.2100/.

Unnatural Death Report: 04

  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 13/08/2007 at 0745 hrs one Raveesh (35) R/o Kotekar Mangalore accidentally fell down while working in Thrishna Bar and restaurant at Padavinagady Kavoor Mangalore. He was admitted to A. J hospital Mangalore where he declared dead while under treatment on same day at 0915 hrs.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 13/08/2007 in between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs one Somappa Poojary (65) R/o Barinja Ammunje village Bantwal Taluk consumed poison near his house owing to health problem.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Venoor Police Station. On 12/08/2007 at 2130 hrs one Vedhavathi (36) R/o Bogra bettu eliyanadugodu Village Bantwal Taluk sustained serious burn injuries while trying to light kerosene lamp in her house. She was admitted to Fr. Muller hospital at Mangalore and there while under treatment she succumbed to her injuries on 13/08/2007 at 1335 hrs.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Venoor Police Station. On 13/08/2007 at 1430 hrs one Umesh K Madivala (25) R/o Kurudadi Bantwal Taluk consumed poison near his house owing to health problem.
