• A case under Theft has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 20/03/2007 in between 0900 hrs and 1500 hrs accused Lathif and Yaqoob both residents of Mundaje village Belthangady Taluk committed theft of a cow belonging to one Kunniga (48) R/o Guruva R/o Mundaje village Belthangady Taluk from her house.

• A case under Cruelty by husband and relatives along with Dowry Prohibition Act has been registered in Moodabidre Police Sation on the complaint of one Malathi (28) R/o Aliyooru Valpadi village Mangalore Taluk. In the complaint it is alleged that accused Jaganatha @ Umesha @ Raja (husband) and relative Achappa Poojary gave physical and mental harassment to Malathi to bring more dowry.
  
• A case under Intentional intent to provoke breach of the peace, Criminal intimidation along with intending to insult the modesty of woman (sec 509 IPC) has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 28/08/2007 at 1700 hrs accused Naveen Shetty and Praveen Shetty both residents of Nehrunagara Kabaka village Puttur Taluk abuse one Sumana Kudva (31) R/o Nehrunagara Kabaka village Puttur Taluk in filthy language and tried to insult her modesty and also gave life threat to her owing to previous enmity.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 29/08/2007 at 1815 hrs at Acchin Padangady village Belthangady Taluk one Shekh Abdul Khader @ Kunhimonu driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-19-8810 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-S-623. As a result motorcycle rider Vijaya Sai Alva (36) R/o Padangady village Belthangady Taluk sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. Further the pillion rider of said motorcycle Chandrahasa Shetty (52) R/o Odilanla village Belthangady Taluk sustained simple injuries. The lorry driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

• A case under Intentional intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 29/08/2007 at 0715 hrs accused Rathnakara, Sadananda Gowda, Niveditha and Shashikala abused one Naveena Shetty (36) R/o Nehrunagara Kabaka village Puttur Taluk in filthy language near his house and assaulted him with sickle owing to personal enmity.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Venoor Police Station. On 29/08/2007 at 0845 hrs one Sanjeeva Poojary (56) R/o Muthottu Marodi village Belthangady Taluk accidentally slipped into a well near his house while taking water from the well and died due to drowning.
