• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 13/08/2007 at 1930 hrs on V. T road at Mangalore one unknown motorcycle rider drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Hanumanthappa (50) R/o Badami Taluk Bagalkot district a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries. The motorcycle rider escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
  
• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 14/08/2007 at 1630 hrs at Pilichandi Kuvettu village Belthangady Taluk one Lancy driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-21-7331 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Rameeza (07) a pedestrian and caused her simple injuries.

• A case under Rioting, Criminal restraint, Hurt, Criminal intimidation along with Attempt to murder has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 14/08/2007 accused Nawfal, Asif Datthamma, Shaukath Mandi, Irfan, Musthafa, Ichcha @ Naushad, Niyaz, Asif Kompe and others forming into an unlawful assembly at Nadupalli Kudroli Mangalore and criminally restrained one Shek Habeeb Raiman @ Noushad (19) R/o Kudroli Mangalore and abused him in filthy language and assaulted with sickle and tried to kill him. The motive seems to be personal enmity between Shek Habeeb and accused persons.

• A case under Putting person in fear of injury in order to commit extortion along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 28/07/2007 at 1130 hrs at Bedrala Keminje village Puttur Taluk accused Suraj Patler and another person threatens to publish a defamatory libel concerning to one Shinivas P. Pai R/o Sampya Ariyapu village Puttur Taluk unless he gives money to accused persons and also gave life threat to him.
  
• A case under 86, 87, 71 (a) Karnataka Forest Act along with theft has been registered in Konaje Police Station. On 15/08/2007 at 1000 hrs at Asai Manjanady village Mangalore Taluk, PSI Konaje PS along with his staff on credible information apprehended Mohammad @ Silk Mohammad (33) R/o Asai Manjanady village Mangalore Taluk for transporting 135 kgs sandal wood pieces illegally in a Maruti car bearing No. KA-19-M-6562 worth of Rs 2,00,000/ has been seized. It is learnt that these sandle wood pieces have been stolen somewhere else by the accused. The total value of siezed property is Rs. 3,00,000/.

• A case under NDPS Act has been registered in Konaje Police Station. On 14/08/2007 at 1330 hrs on credible information PSI Konaje PS along with staff arrested one Siraj @ Mahammed Siraj (25) R/o Thoudugoli cross Naringana village Batnwal Taluk and seized 60 packets (each 20 grams) of Ganja from his his possession. Police apprehended him while he was selling Ganja near bus stand at Mangalanthi Manjanady village Mangalore Taluk.

Unnatural Death Report: 06

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Urwa Police Station. On 14/08/2007 at 1200 hrs one Dayananda Shetty (48) was found dead near Dambel Bridge at Ashoknagara Mangalore. The death seems to be due to heavy drunkenness.
  
• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Urwa Police Station. On 14/08/2007 in between 1130 hrs at 1530 hrs one unknown person aged about 50 years was found dead near Kottarachowki Mangalore. The death seems to be due to some illness.
  
• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 14/08/2007 at 1230 hrs one unknown female dead body aged about 60 yrs to 65 yrs was found seashore at Hosabettu Mangalore. The death seems to be a case of drowning.
  
• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. In between 13/08/2007 and 14/08/2007 at 0800 hrs Shantha (35) and Ramesh who were labours at Matada Majalu farm at Charmadi village Belthangady Taluk belonging to one Anantha Rao committed suicide by hanging in their shed owing to personal problem.
  
• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. In between 13/08/2007 at 1830 hrs one unknown male dead body aged about 30 yrs to 35 yrs was found at Banda Shale Kaniyoor village Belthangady Taluk. It seems to be a case of suicide by hanging.
  
• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 13/08/2007 at 1200 hrs one Sundara Das (55) R/o Punchathady Patrame Belthangady Taluk accidentally fell from the tree while cutting tree branch near his house and got serious injuries and he was admitted to Wenlock hospital at Mangalore where he succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on the same day at 2005 hrs.
