On 06/09/2007 at about 1400 hrs on cridible information ASI Puttur Town PS and his staff intercepted car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-3679 and KL-14-D-2643 at Urlady Puttur Town and seized 15 Cans of rectified spirit (each carryng 30 Lts) being transported illegally. They also arrested Madhava (43) R/o Kasaragod Taluk Kerala State and Sujith (38) R/o Sullia Town. The two cars have also been seized.
Total worth of porpetry seized is Rs. 4,32,450/.
In this connection, a case has been registered in Puttur Town PS under Karnataka Excise Act.
