Dacoity: 01
  • A case under Dacoity has been registered in Vittal Police Station. On 06/03/2008 at 1915 hrs ten unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Dharmendra Shetty (36) R/o Gadhadapadpu Kolalu Kolnadu village Bantwal and assaulted Dharmendra Shetty with sickle and iron rod and they tied Dharmendra Shetty, his wife Surekha and his mother Bhavani with rope and then took away gold ornaments gold ornaments (112 grams) and a mobile set all in worth Rs. 59,000/.

Crime against Women: 03

  • A case under Cruelty by husband, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt, Criminal intimidation along with Dowry Prohibition Act has been registered in Women Police Station on the complaint of one Shashikala W/o Bhaskar R/o Kadri Mangalore. In the complaint it is alleged that accused Bhaskar (husband) gave physical and mental harassment to Shashikala to bring more dowry and assaulted her by hand and he also gave life threat to her.
  • A case under Hurt has been registered in Puttur Rural Police Station. On 05/03/2008 at 0010 hrs at Janatha colony Balnadu village Puttur Taluk accused one Suresh assaulted Annapurneshwari (25) R/o Janatha Colony Balnadu village Puttur Taluk, Malathi and Bharathi with wooden stick. The motive seems to be civil dispute between them.
  • A case under Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Puttur Rural Police Station. On 05/03/2008 at 0530 hrs accused one Damodhara Maniyani assaulted his wife Varija by hand and with wooden stick in her house and also gave life threat to her. The motive seems to be family dispute between them.

  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 06/03/2008 at 1715 hrs near Karavali Circle at Mangalore one Sathish driver of Goods Tempo bearing Reg. No. KA-18-3540 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KL-12-B-6447. As a result Mohammed Nazeer (24) R/o Sarappady village Bantwal Taluk rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Konaje Police Station. On 06/03/2008 at 0815 hrs at Mullugudde Kairangala village Mangalore Taluk one Jayantha Naik (23) driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-2128 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which the vehicle capsized. As a result driver of auto rickshaw Jayantha Naik, Baby (43) R/o Naringana village Bantwal Taluk, Vanitha (35) who were traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained simple injuries.

  • A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Attempt to murder has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 06/03/2008 at 1030 hrs at Vidyanagara Bedrodi Bajathooru village Puttur Taluk accused one Deekayya Gowda Bedrody abused one Lakshmana Poojary (29) R/o Pilikudelu Mogaru village Belthangady Taluk in filthy language and assaulted him with sickle and tried to kill him. The motive seems to be financial dispute between Lakshmana Poojary and accused Deekayya Gowda.

  • A case under the Essential commodities Act has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 28/02/2008 at 1230 hrs on credible information Sundar Bhat Thahashildar Sullia Taluk, PSI Sullia PS along with staff conducted a raid on a Vinyas Gas Agencies shop at Melinapete Bellare village Sullia Taluk and seized 29 LPG cylinders (1 filled, 28 Empty) and Gas Stoves. One by Umesh Hegde R/o Sullia Taluk the owner was arrested. It is learnt that the accused used to divert domestic LPG and illegally fill the private cylinders at higher rates and make profit.
  • A case under the Essential commodities Act has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 28/02/2008 at 1200 hrs on credible information Sundar Bhat Thahashildar Sullia Taluk, PSI Sullia PS along with staff conducted a raid on a Kamadhenu Enterprises shop at Melinapete Bellare village Sullia Taluk and seized 61 LPG cylinders (4 filled, 57 Empty). One by Madhava Gowda R/o Sullia Taluk the owner was arrested. It is learnt that the accused used to divert domestic LPG and illegally fill the private cylinders at higher rates and make profit.
  • A case under the Essential commodities Act has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 28/02/2008 at 1300 on credible information Sundar Bhat Thahashildar Sullia Taluk, PSI Sullia PS along with staff conducted a raid on a Shan Enterprises shop at Melinapete Bellare village Sullia Taluk and seized 9 LPG cylinders (3 filled, 6 Empty) and Gas Stoves. One by Abdul Azeez R/o Sullia Taluk the owner was arrested. It is learnt that the accused used to divert domestic LPG and illegally fill the private cylinders at higher rates and make profit.
  • A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On 03/01/2008 at 2230 hrs on credible information Mutthappa Gowda Police Head Constable Kadaba PS along with staff intercepted a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-J-2134 at Hosamatapete Kutrapady village Puttur Taluk and seized liquor worth Rs. 1,600/ which was being transported illegally by arresting Chndrashekara (30) R/o Kutrupady village Puttur Taluk and Purushothama (21) R/o Kadaba village Puttur Taluk. The motorcycle has also been seized.

Unnatural Death Report: 02

  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Puttur Rural Police Station. On 06/03/2008 at 1300 hrs and 1930 hrs one Choma (85) R/o Nannya Madnoor village Puttur Taluk committed suicide by hanging near his house owing to health problem.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. In between 05/03/2008 at 1300 hrs and 06/03/2008 at 0800 hrs one Jyothi (27) and her son Arun Kumar (07) accidentally slipped into the Netravathi river at A.M.R. Power Project Shambur village Bantwal Taluk while taking bath and died due to drowning.

Missing Persons: 02

  • A case of Girl missing has been registered in Sullia Police Station. One Ushalatha (21) D/o Sundara Gowda R/o Chelangaru Aletti village Sullia Taluk left her house on 01/03/2008 at 1030 hrs and did not return to her house there after. She has been found missing since then.
  • A case of Boy missing has been registered in Sullia Police Station. One Purushothama (14) S/o Sheshappa Gowda Bommaru Nellur Kemraje village Sullia Taluk left his house on 02/03/2008 at 1100 hrs and did not return to his house there after. He has been found missing since then.
