On 08/11/2007 at 1330 hrs on credible information ASP Puttur and Probationary DSP along with staff conducted a raid on open place at Ibarodi Mundur village Belthangady Taluk and seized 71 cocks, 16 motorcycles, 02 Jeeps, 01 Maruthi 800, and cash Rs. 24,310/ by arresting William (32), Santhosh (34), Mohammed (50), Suresh (19) Sathish Shetty (44), Prasanna (35), Mohammed Khasim (25), Vishwanatha (28), Ramanna (60), Doddanna Poojary (53), Babu Gowda (55), Babu Devadiga (45), Poovappa (38), Jnanoji Rao (62), Dejappa (39), Isubu (42), Ramesh (25), Mahesh Nadakara (20) who were indulging in betting on cock fighting.
In this connection, a case has been registered against the arrested persons in Belthangady PS U/S 87 and 93 of the Karnataka Police Act.
