On 13/12/2006 at 1100 hrs on credible information PSI (Crime) Ullal PS along with his staff intercepted a Lorry bearing Reg. No. KLI-4169 on NH-17 near Naganakatte Thokkottu Permannur village Mangalore Taluk and seized 22 Cans (each 35 Lts) rectified spirit being transported illegally by arresting Shyni (26) R/o Matilakam Thrishur Kerala State and Ragunath (39) R/o Pottanate Cherutheri Thrishur Kerala State. However one Ekanatha @ Ekku R/o Thokkuttu Managalore Taluk manged to escape from the place. The Lorry has also been seized.
Total worth of rectified spirit seized is Rs. 45,000/ and value of Lorry is Rs. 4,00,000/.
In this connection, a case has been registered in Ullal PS under Karnataka Excise Act. The accused arrested have been produced before the JMFC III court.
