The following are the crimes reported in D.K. District during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 02/12/2007.

• A case under Murder along with Sec. 27 Arms Act been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 02/12/2007 at 0130 hrs accused Vergis, owner of Elight Industries abused one Jobin (24) Security guard of said Industry in filthy language and fired at him with a Revolver due which he got serious injuries and died on the way to hospital.

Fatal: 01

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 02/12/2007 at 0620 hrs at Dharmasthala village Belthangady Taluk one Shashikiran driver of Maruti car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-P-1374 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a unknown Beggar aged about 65 to 75 yrs and caused him serious injuries. Further he was admitted to the hospital at Mangalore where he succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on the same day at 1200 hrs.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 01/12/2007 at 0915 hrs on Azizuddin road at Mangalore one unknown auto rickshaw driver drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Santhosh Kumar R/o Kambala cross Barke Mangalore a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries. The auto rickshaw driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
  
• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Urwa Police Station. On 30/11/2007 at 1930 hrs at Chilimbi Mangalore one Shrikantha rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-V-9522 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Celina Helen D’Mello R/o Chilimbi Mangalore a pedestrian and caused her simple injuries.
  
• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Puttur Rural Police Station. On 01/12/2007 at 1630 hrs at Arikkala Kaiyuru village Puttur Taluk one Laxmi Narayana driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-21-7816 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Ashoka (06) R/o Kaiyuru village Puttur Taluk a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries.
  
• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Venoor Police Station. On 01/12/2007 at 0415 hrs at Peraldakatte Thenkakarandoor village Belthangady Taluk one Aravinda driver of a car bearing Reg. No. KA-04-N-1461 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle and dashed against a bridge. As a result Aravinda driver of said car, Balasubramanya (27) R/o Thenkakarandoor village Belthangady Taluk, Keshava Bhat and Murali Krishna Bhat who were traveling in the said car sustained grievous injuries.

• A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Subramanya Police Station. On 30/11/2007 at 1830 hrs accused Ashoka, Hariyappa, Prashantha and Geetha abused one Monappa K (27) R/o Valaje Devachalla village Sullia Taluk in filthy language near his house and assaulted him with wooden stick and with sickle. They also assaulted Purushotama and Harishchandra with wooden stick who were came to help Monappa and also gave life threat to them owing to trivial issue.

• A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 01/12/2007 at 1800 hrs on credible information HC 579 Sullia PS along with staff conducted a raid on open place near Bus stand at Sullia Town and seized 30 liquors bottles (each 180 ML) worth Rs. 850 by arresting Mohan P.N. (27) R/o Jarathadka Ajjavara village Sullia Taluk who is selling these liquor illegally there.

Unnatural Death Report: 03

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. In between 27/11/2007 and 01/12/2007 at 0800 hrs one Monta Poojary (48) R/o Kellaputhige village Mangalore Taluk committed suicide by jumping into the well at Kellaputhige village Mangalore Taluk owing to health problem and died due to drowning.
  
• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 30/11/2007 at 1900 hrs one Manjunatha Poojary (48) R/o Shirady village Puttur Taluk committed suicide by consuming poison in his house owing financial problem.
  
• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered Uppinangady Police Station where in the dead body of one Sesappa Gowda (65) R/o Anjakuri Palike Mogru village Belthangady Taluk has been found in Netravathi river at Madattharu Biliyuru village Bantwal Taluk. The said Sesappa Gowda had accidentally slipped into the Nethravathi River while taking bath on 10/11/2007 and a missing case was already registered in Uppinangady Police Station.
