- A case under Murder has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 30/05/2008 at 1430 hrs accused one Thaniyapp Gowda R/o Posaottu house Kanchimaru Bailu Dharmasthala village Belthangady Taluk picked up quarrel with his wife Kusuma in their house and assaulted her with wooden stick due which she got grievous injuries and died on the spot.

- A case under Robbery has been registered in Barke Police Station relating to an incident of chain snatching. On 31/05/2008 at 2050 hrs near Gokarnantha College at Mannagudde Mangalore one Prabha Nayak R/o near Sanganikethana Mangalore was on her way to home with her son Prashanth Nayak. At that time, some unknown person came near her and snatched the gold chain from her neck and ran away. The value of property is around Rs.35, 000/.
- A case under Robbery has been registered in Bajpe Police Station relating to an incident of chain snatching. On 31/05/2008 at 1315 hrs on Malali-Nadaje road at Badagulipadi village Mangalore Taluk one Salika (22) R/o Sanbottu Mogaru village Mangalore Taluk was on her way to home. At that time, 4 unknown persons came in a Quails car near her and snatched the gold chain from her neck and escaped in a Qualis car. The value of property is around Rs.16, 000/.
Burglary: 01
- A case of Burglary has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. In between 07/05/2008 at 1330 hrs and 08/05/2008 at 0915 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the Anganavadi at Homaru Bantwal Town by breaking door lock and committed theft of a gas cylinder belonging to Akshara Dasoha Yojane. The worth of stolen property is Rs. 1, 200/.

- A case under Ordinary Theft has been registered in Barke Police Station. On 31/05/2008 at 2230 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of a laptop, Flight ticket and other documents belonging to one Upahar Guptha R/o Home Shamil Uttarapradesh that was kept in a KSRTC bus at KSRTC bus stand at Lalbagh Mangalore. The total worth of stolen property is Rs. 47,000/.

- A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Bajpe Police Station. On 31/05/2008 at 1100 hrs at Paddaikallu Kadavara village Mangalore Taluk one driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-19-3318 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due vehicle capsized. As a result one Shekabba driver of lorry, Muttu Gowda, Surendra Poojary, Nemiraj and Gopal who were traveling in the said lorry sustained grievous injuries. Further one Muttu Gowda succumbed to his injuries while on the way to hospital.
- A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 31/05/2008 at 2100 hrs on KVG college road at Sullia Town one Rajesh Poojary rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-H-3412 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Rohith Kumar a pedestrian and caused him serious injuries. Further Rohith Kumar was succumbed to his injuries while on the way to hospital.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 29/05/2008 at 1730 hrs at Kana Beluvai village Mangalore Taluk one driver of JCB bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-3684 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a pole belonging to Mescom. As a result pole got damaged. No causalities reported.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 31/05/2008 at 0915 hrs on NH 17 at Thadambail Surathkal Mangalore one driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-8658 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-3206. As a result Francis D’Souza driver of auto rickshaw and Hayavadana Rao (62) R/o Kadambody Idya Surathkal Mangalore who was traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained simple injuries.

- A case under Rioting, House trespass, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 30/05/2008 at 1915 hrs accused Ashraf, Harees, Siddique, Sharif and Majeed forming into an unlawful assembly and entered into the Bharath Fast Food hotel at Kalya Ammunje village Bantwal Taluk belonging to one Adham (50) and abused him and Sudhakara in filthy language and assaulted them by hand and with wooden stick and damage the hotel by breaking chairs and also gave life threat to them owing to personal enmity.

On 31/05/2008 at 1530 hrs at Attavarakatte Mangalore accused Ravi, Shabhari Raj and Anthony abused one Mohammed Haneef (42) R/o Shakthinagara Mangalore in filthy language and assaulted him by hand owing to trivial issue.
- A case under Criminal restraint, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 31/05/2008 at 2000 hrs accused one Rukmayya (20) R/o Nellikumeru Kallugundi Sampaje village Sullia Taluk criminally restrained one Jogi near his house and assaulted him with sickle and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

- A case case of Gambling under Karnataka Police Act has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 31/05/2008 at 1920 hrs on credible information PI Mangalore East PS along with staff conducted a raid at Sanjeeva Complex at Shakthinagara Cross Kulashekara Mangalore. At the time of raid Police found 05 persons playing “Ander- Bahar” with cards The Police seized cash Rs.47, 000/ and playing cards from the spot by arresting Venkatesh Saliyan, Chandrahasa, John Saldana and Ramesh Kotiyan who were indulged in gambling.

- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 29/05/2008 at 1930 hrs one Ananda Gatti R/o near Sharvu Temple Mangalore attempted to commit suicide by consuming acid in his house owing to personal problem. Further he was admitted to Yenapoya hospital at Mangalore where he declared dead while under treatment on 20/05/2008 at 2125 hrs.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 29/05/2008 at 1430 hrs one Suresha (36) R/o Marnamikatte Mangalore attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison at Gowdown belonging to Mahammai Trading at Dakke Mangalore owing to personal problem. Further he was admitted to A.J. hospital at Mangalore where he declared dead while under treatment on 31/05/2008 at 1240 hrs.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 31/05/2008 at 1000 hrs one Shantha (26) R/o Nadugudde Dharmastala village Belthangady Taluk attempted to commit suicide by consuming pesticide in her house personal problem. Further she was admitted to Govt. hospital at Belthangady where she declared dead while under treatment on 31/05/2008 at 1430 hrs.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On the night of 30-31/05/2008 one Kusumavathi (60) R/o Kallagudde Noojibalthila village Puttur Taluk committed suicide by hanging near her house owing to health problem.
Missing Persons: 01
- A case of Man missing has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. One Varki (65) R/o Nekkipani Nellikaru village Mangalore Taluk left his on 28/05/2008 at 0700 hrs and did not return his house there after. He has been found missing since then.
