Police Recruitment 08: Written Examination For CPC/WPC Held

The written examination for the post of Civil Police Constables (CPC- 33) and Women Police Constables (WPC- 03) for DK Police was held today (31/08/2008) at St. Alosyius College premise. 921 candidates attended the examination today. The detailed breakup of candidates who appeared for this examination is as under:

CPCs/WPCs Total - 1038, Attended - 921

The examination was of objective type for 100 marks consisting of 100 questions. Candidates were asked to mark the correct answers on the OMR (Optical Marks Reading) sheets.

On the basis of the result of this written examination, candidates will be called for the Physical Standards and Physical Efficiency Test at future dates in the ratio of 1:5.

The stolen property is worth Rs. 20, 000/.

• A case of MV Theft has been registered in Barke Police Station. On 27/08/2008 in between 1600 hrs and 2200 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of a Bajaj Pulser motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-U-6045 belonging to one Pavan K. R. (22) R/o Kunjathabail Kavoor Mangalore that was parked near Reliance Photo Print shotp at Bejai Mangalore. The motorcycle is worth Rs. 30,000/.

• A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 29/08/2008 at 1030 hrs accused Thomas Rebello R/o Shiradi village Puttur Taluk abused one Thresiyamma (53) R/o Kodayi Shiradi village Puttur Taluk in filthy language near her house and assaulted her by wooden stick and also gave life threat to her owing to previous enmity.

On 30/08/2008 at 1530 hrs at Bejai Mangalore one unknown motorcycle rider drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Siddantha R/o Kotekaru Mangalore a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries. The motorcycle rider escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
  
• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 31/08/2008 at 0030 hrs at Nanthoor Padavu Mangalore one Chandrashekara driver of Maruti car bearing Reg. No. KA-21-M-6129 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-E-7476. As a result Preetham Pinto (21) R/o Kannur Mangalore motorcycle rider and Sharath Kumar pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.

• A case of Man missing has been registered in Ullal Police Station. One Somappa (85) R/o Bagambila Someshwara village Mangalore Taluk left his house on 21/08/2008 at 1000 hrs and did not return to his house there after. He has beeen found missing since then.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 14/08/2008 at 0530 hrs one Saroja (18) R/o Koorikatte Baikampady Mangalore accidentally got serious burn injuries while lighting a kerosene lamp in her house and she was admitted to Wenlock hospital at Mangalore where she succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on 29/08/2008 at 1125 hrs.

On 27/08/2008 at 2030 hrs accused Jobi, Mahendra, Prakash, Mahnohar, Prakash, Paulos, Lava Kumar, Thambi and Prakash forming into an unlawful assembly and stopped a car near Gundya check post at Shiradi village Puttur Taluk abused inmates Kiran K (25) R/o Bangalore, Amith, Rajesh and Rathan in filthy language and assaulted by hand and also damaged the car. • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 28/08/2008 at 0945 hrs one Pavan Kumar Thakur (30) accidentally fell down from the building while working at Vidhyagiri Alvas Campus Moodabidre and sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 28/08/2008 in between 0800 hrs and 0930 hrs one Lathesh Salian (22) R/o Kallakadame Pudu village Bantwal Taluk committed suicide by hanging near his house owing to health problem.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On 28/08/2008 at 1200 hrs one Choma Naik (60) R/o Anithadka Koyla village Puttur Taluk committed suicide by consuming poison near his house owing to health problem.

Illegal Arrack Manufacturing Unit Busted By Bantwal Town Police

On 27/08/2008 at 0740 hrs on cridible information PSI (Crime) Bantwal Town PS along with staff conducted raid at Ponnodi Bantwal Taluk and seized a Sachet manufacturing machine and 400 sachets of arrack. On seeing the police team, accused two unknown personas who were managed to escape from the place.

Total worth of porpetry seized is Rs। 60,000/.

In this connection, a case has been registered in Bantwal Town PS under Karnataka Excise Act.

Gambling Raid: Four Arrested, Rs 3,080 / seized

On 24/08/2008 at 2330 on specific information CPI Sullia Circle along with staff conducted raid an open place at Gandhinagara Sullia Town. At the time of raid Police found 04 persons playing “Ander - Bahar” with cards. Police seized cash Rs. 3,080/ and playing cards from the spot by arresting Basheer K.M, Mohammed M, Abdul Razak and Abdul Latheef who were indulging in gambling.

In this connection, a case has been registered against the arrested persons in Sullia PS U/s 87 of the Karnataka Police Act.

In between 19/08/2008 and 20/08/2008 at night some unknown culprits committed theft of Telephone cables (1200 meters) belonging to BSNL at Talapady village Mangalore Taluk. The total worth of stolen property is about Rs. 4,900/.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 21/08/2008 at 1600 hrs on NH 48 at Kalladka Golthamajal village Bantwal Taluk one driver of Eicher lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-02-AC-5139 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Mohammed Shareef a pedestrian and caused him serious injuries and died on the spot. The lorry driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 22/08/2008 at 1045 hrs on NH 48 at Valthaje Kowcrady village Puttur Taluk one driver of LGP Gas Tanker bearing Reg. No. KA-01-C-8583 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Tata Indica car bearing Reg. No. KA-05-AA-276. As a result car driver Narashiha and Padmavathi who were traveling in the said car sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot. Further the Tanker driver lost control over his vehicle due which Tanker capsized. Muralikrishna and Vijayavani who were traveling in the said car sustained grievous injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 21/08/2008 at 1700 hrs near St Theresa School at Bendoor Mangalore one driver of Bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-6303 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a car bearing Reg. No. KA-20-N-4669 driven by one Dr. Sabeena (31) R/o Bendoorwell Mangalore. As a result the car got damaged. No casualties reported.

On 21/08/2008 at 1215 hrs near Vidyaranya Nagar at Ullal Mangalore one Harish K driver of Maruthi Omni car bearing Reg. No. KL-14-G-4343 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Lingappa Poojary (60) R/o Manjeshwara Kasaragod Kerala State a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries.

As a result one Ashok (270 R/o Umesagu Ichlampady village Puttur Taluk rider of scooter sustained grievous injuries.

On 21/08/2008 at 1330 hrs on NH 48 at Subramanya cross Uppinangady village Puttur Taluk one driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-40-1683 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against another lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-8021 that was parked near roadside from behind. As a result Narashihamoorthi Cleaner of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-40-1683 and Gangadhara (35) R/o Madikallu Chikkaballapura who was traveling in the said lorry sustained grievous injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 20/08/2008 at 1930 hrs one driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-20-6842 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against the entrance gate of AMPC at Kuntikan Mangalore. As a result the entrance gate got damaged. In between 18/08/2008 at 1630 hrs and 19/08/2008 at 0900 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into DKZPHP School at Kuriya village Puttur Taluk by breaking the door lock and committed theft of 5 Gas cylinders belonging to Akshara Dasoha Yojane. The worth of stolen property is Rs. 5, 000/.

In between 18/08/2008 at 2100 hrs and 19/08/2008 at 0630 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of VCD player system and LCD Screen from Innova car belonging to one Sudesh Sanil (38) R/o Mannagudda Mangalore which was parked roadside at Alake Kambla cross Mangalore. The stolen property is worth Rs 12,000/.

In the complaint it is alleged that accused Udaya (husband) gave physical and mental harassment to one Sunanda and abused her in filthy language in her house and assaulted her with wooden stick owing to family dispute.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 19/08/2008 at 1230 hrs on NH 17 at Nethravathi Bridge Mangalore one driver of Maruthi car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-5001 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Tata Ace Tempo bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-4379. As a result Tempo driver Dayananda (38) R/o Pumpwell Mangalore, Abubakkar who was traveling in the said Tempo, Santhosh and Gopal who were traveling in the Maruti car sustained simple injuries.

On 19/08/2008 at 14000 hrs on credible information PSI Lottery and Excise detention squad Mangalore along with staff conducted a raid on an open place at Bastikatte Amlamogaru village Mangalore Taluk and seized illegal liquor (10 Lts) worth Rs. 1, 000/. How ever accused one Sandeep (22) R/o Amlamogaru village Mangalore Taluk who was selling these liquor has managed to escape from the place.

• A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Puttur Rural Police Station. On 19/08/2008 at 1030 hrs on credible information PSI Puttur Rural PS along with staff conducted a raid on an open place at Thambuthadka Nidpalli village Puttur Taluk and seized 32 illegal liquor bottles (each 180 ML) worth Rs. 1, 440/ by arresting Jayantha Poojary (34) R/o Nidpalli village Puttur Taluk and Joseph D Souza (45) R/o Balnadu village Puttur Taluk who were selling these liquor illegally there.

Unnatural Death Report: 01

• A case under Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 18/08/2008 at 2040 hrs one Dinesha (23) R/o Konaje village Puttur Taluk attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison at his house owing to financial problem. Further he was admitted to Chethana hospital at Puttur where he declared dead while under treatment on same day at 2045 hrs.

Further he was admitted to Alvas hospital at Moodabidre where he declared dead while under treatment on same day at 0915 hrs.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 18/08/2008 at 2400 hrs one Anil Kumar (35) R/o Akasha Bhavan Kavoor Mangalore committed suicide by hanging in his house owing to personal problem.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 18/08/2008 in between 0900 hrs and 1000 hrs one Koraga (50) R/o Mulliakaje Ajjavara village Sullia Taluk committed suicide by hanging in his house owing to health problem.

• A case of Man missing has been registered in Urwa Police Station. One Punith (24) R/o Kunjathuru Karasaragod District Kerala State went to work at More Super Market Chilimbi Mangalore on 14/08/2008 and did not return his house there after. He has been found missing since then.

On 17/08/2008 at 1815 hrs accused Santhosha and other 6 persons came in motorcycles and forming into unlawful assembly near Guest House at Thaneer Bhavi Mangalore and abused one Alwin Menezes (39) R/o Kulashekara Mangalore and assaulted him by hand and also robbed gold chain from his neck and his brother’s neck. Further they run away from the spot on their motorcycles.

No. KL-11-G-6201 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an M 80 motorcycle bearing Reg. No. CRX-6135. As a result motorcycle rider one Valerian Fernandes R/o Veera Nagara Kannur Mangalore sustained serious injuries and admitted to the Omega hospital Mangalore. Where he succumbed to his injuries on same day at 1245 hrs.

• A case of Fatal road accident has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. Where in one Purushothama has been declared dead while under treatment on 17/08/2008 at 1000 hrs. The said Purushothama was seriously injured by a KSRTC bus in a road traffic accident on 13/08/2008 at 1215 hrs at Kelagina Vogga Kadabettu village Bantwal Taluk and admitted to the Fr. Muller’s Hospital at Mangalore. In this connection a case has been already registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station.

On 17/08/2008 at 2230 hrs in front of Swadesh Restuarent Balmatta Road Mangalore one driver of Autorickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-5886 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KL-13-R-903 driven by Rahul K. V. (19) R/o Kannur District Kerala State. As a result motorcycle got damaged. No causalities reported.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Barke Police Station. On 17/08/2008 at 0800 hrs at Lalbagh Mangalore one driver of Bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-AC-8578 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an Auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-5428. As a result Vishwanatha R/o Ashok Nagar Mangalore the driver of said auto rickshaw and other passengers are in the said auto rickshaw also sustained simple injuries. The bus driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 17/08/2008 at 1630 hrs near Highland Hospital Mangalore one Kishore driver of Auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-4268 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which the vehicle capsized. As a result Yogish (38) R/o Attavara Mangalore a passenger of said auto rickshaw sustained simple injuries.

No. KA-19-N-2442 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing reg. No. KA-19-W-4885. As a result motorcycle rider Surendra (26) R/o Someshwara Mangalore and Ramesh pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries. The car driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

On 16/08/2008 at 1400 hrs at Daddalkadu Mudanadugodu village Bantwal Taluk one Lancy Pereira driver of Jeep bearing Reg. No. CAG-8880 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-J-9193. As a result motorcycle rider Dakayya R/o Panjikallauvilage Bantwal taluk and Sudhakara Poojary pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained grievous injuries.

• A case of Girl missing has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. One Premalatha (19) R/o Jyothi Nagar Kunjathbail Mangalore left her house in between 15/08/2008 at 2230 and 16/08/2008 at 0700 hrs and did not return her house there after. She has been found missing since then.
