Daily Crime Incidents for August 13, 2008.

The following are the crimes reported in D. K. District during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 13/08/2008.

Robbery: 01
  • A case of Robbery has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station.. On 12/08/2008 at 1230 hrs one Prameeth (20) R/o Ramadasa Nagara Bajal Mangalore was on his way to ICICI Bank near St. Agnes College at Bendoor Mangalore by walk. At that time two unknown person came in a Tata Indica car bearing Reg. No. KA-20-P-5232 and robbed cash Rs. 85,000 from his bag and ran away with their car.

Crime against Women:01

  • A case under Cruelty by husband has been registered in Women Police Station on the complaint of one Shakunthala Shetty (39) W/o Sudhir Shetty R/o Lalbhag Mangalore. In the complaint it is alleged that accused Sudhir Shetty (husband) gave physical and mental harassment to Shakunthala to bring more dowry.

  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 12/08/2008 at 1600 hrs on NH 17 at Baikampady Mangalore one driver of Tempo bearing Reg. No. KA-19-AD-3699 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-U-5575. As a result motorcycle rider and pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.
  • A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 12/08/2008 at 1615 hrs near Parladka junction at Puttur Town one Nisar driver of jeep bearing Reg. No. KA-19-M-4586 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-MD-937 due which both the vehicles capsized. As result one Subramanya (27) R/o Puttur Town driver of car sustained simple injuries.

  • A case under Seizure of Stolen property has been registered in Subramanya Police Station. On 12/08/2008 at 1000 hrs PSI Subramanya PS along with staff apprehended Chinnamma (19) R/o Bangalore and Nagaraja (18) R/o Bangalore who were found moving suspiciously with 2 Mobile phones and 3 purses near Car Street at Subramanya village Sullia Taluk. On enquiry it was learnt that the 2 Mobile phones and 3 purses has been stolen somewhere else. Accordingly a case was registered in Subramanya PS.

Unnatural Death Report: 03

  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 06/08/2008 at 2000 hrs one Raju R/o Yalahanka Bangalore accidentally fell down due some illness near Railway Quarters at Mangalore. Further he was admitted to Wenlock hospital at Mangalore where he declared dead while under treatment on 12/08/2008 at 1030 hrs. The death seems to be due to some illness.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Mulki Police Station. On 13/08/2008 at 0930 hrs one Sapna (26) R/o Thokur Bellayoor village Mangalore Taluk accidentally slipped into a well near her house while taking water from the well. Further she died on the way to hospital. The death seems to be due to drawing.
  • A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Venoor Police Station. In between 11/08/2008 at 0700 hrs and 12/08/2008 at 1100 hrs one Shivarama Bangera (30) R/o Elpelu Kukkippady village Puttur Taluk committed suicide by hanging in his house owing to personal problem.

Missing Persons: 01

  • A case of Men missing has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 13/08/2008 at 0400 hrs Doire Babu (22), Penchalayya (23), Veenu (22), Subba Reddy (32) Ramakrishna (22) and Jayarama (25) accidentally slipped into the Nethravathi River and got washed away while working at Neerakatte Sagar Power Project Bajatthoor village Puttur Taluk. They are not been traced so far.
