• A case of Burglary has registered in Vittal Police Station. In between 27/08/2007 at 2030 hrs and 28/08/2007 at 0630 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Devappa (41) R/o Golikatte Ananthady village Bantwal Taluk by breaking the window grills and committed theft of gold ornaments all in worth Rs. 18, 000/.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Vittal Police Station. On 26/08/2008 at 1800 hrs at Neralakatte Netlamudnur village Bantwal Taluk one driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-21-5494 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-2333 driven by Shivanna R/o Hassan district. As a result one Chidananda Shetty (30) a passenger of said auto rickshaw sustained grievous injuries.

• A case under Rioting, Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 26/08/2008 at 1650 hrs accused Abdul Rahiman, Shabir, Ashraf, Ummar and Shahid forming into an unlawful assembly near Taluk office at Sullia Town and criminally restrained one Yathin (20) R/o Kodagu District and abused him in filthy language and assaulted by hand and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

• A case under Rioting, Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Criminal intimidation, Hurt along with Mischief of causing damage has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 27/08/2008 at 2030 hrs accused Jobi, Mahendra, Prakash, Mahnohar, Prakash, Paulos, Lava Kumar, Thambi and Prakash forming into an unlawful assembly and stopped a car near Gundya check post at Shiradi village Puttur Taluk abused inmates Kiran K (25) R/o Bangalore, Amith, Rajesh and Rathan in filthy language and assaulted by hand and also damaged the car. The damaged caused is about 6,00,000/.

• A case under Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 27/08/2008 at 1600 hrs two unknown persons criminally restrained one Krishnamoorthy (45) R/o Kalladka Bantwal Taluk near tempo stand at Nehru maidan Mangalore and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him by hand and with wooden stick owing to trivial issue.

Unnatural Death Report: 06

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 28/08/2008 at 1115 hrs one Govindan Kutty M. (26) ASI R.P.F. Mangalore committed suicide by hanging in R.P.F. box room at Southern railway Mangalore owing to personal problem.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 28/08/2008 at 0945 hrs one Pavan Kumar Thakur (30) accidentally fell down from the building while working at Vidhyagiri Alvas Campus Moodabidre and sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 28/08/2008 in between 0800 hrs and 0930 hrs one Lathesh Salian (22) R/o Kallakadame Pudu village Bantwal Taluk committed suicide by hanging near his house owing to health problem.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On 28/08/2008 at 1200 hrs one Choma Naik (60) R/o Anithadka Koyla village Puttur Taluk committed suicide by consuming poison near his house owing to health problem.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Venoor Police Station. On 27/08/2008 in between 1600 hrs and 2300 hrs one Usman Beary (47) R/o Kirodi Kashipatna Belthangady Taluk committed suicide by hanging near his house owing to health problem.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 28/08/2008 at 1500 hrs one unknown male dead body aged about 75-80 years was found at Kabaka Puttur Town. The death seems to be due to illness.

Missing Persons: 01

• A case of Woman missing has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. One Priya (25) W/o Radhakrishna Rao R/o No. 2-57 Flat No. 204 Shree Nilaya 2nd block Katipalla Mangalore Taluk left her house on 18/08/2008 and did not return to her house there after. She has been found missing since then.
