On the night of 27-28/08/2008 some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Ashraf R/o Padil house Alape village Mangalore Taluk by breaking the door lock and committed theft of brass water tapes all in worth Rs. 10, 000/.
- A case of Burglary has been registered in Vittal Police Station. In between 10/08/2008 and 26/08/2008 some unknown culprits gained entry into the arecanut Godown at Kambalabettu Vittal Mundoor village Bantwal Taluk belonging to one Abdul Kunchi Vittal Mudnoor village Bantwal Taluk by breaking the door lock and committed theft of arecanut (260 Kgs ) all in worth Rs 20, 000/

On 27/08/2008 at 1230 hrs accused one Farooque (15) R/o Bajaru Janatha colony Thekkaru village Belthangady Taluk attempted to rape a five year old girl of Thekkaru villge Belthangady Taluk while she was on her way to home by walk.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Vittal Police Station. On 26/08/2008 at 1800 hrs at Neralakatte Mani village Bantwal Taluk one Dhananjaya driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-21-5494 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-21-5490 driven by one Shivanna. As a result one Chidananda who was traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained grievous injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 27/08/2008 at 1800 hrs near bus stand at Belthangady Taluk one Harisha driver of unknown motorcycle drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Chitra (21) R/o Beetige Charmady village Belthangady Taluk a pedestrian and caused her simple injuries. Further motorcycle rider lost control over his vehicle due which motorcycle capsized. As a result Shashidhara pillion rider of said motorcycle also sustained simple injuries
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 27/08/2008 at 1800 hrs at Maddadka Kuvettu village Belthangady Taluk one unknown motorcycle rider drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Kairunnisa (23) R/o Maddadka Kuvettu village Belthangady Taluk a pedestrian and caused her simple injuries. The motorcycle rider escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

On 27/08/2008 in between 1100 hrs and 1200 hrs one Ananda Naik (40) R/o Kadya Mundoor village Puttur Taluk developed chest pain while working at Kadya Mundoor village Puttur Taluk and he died on the way to hospital
- A case under Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Venoor Police Station. On 27/08/2008 in between 1600 hrs and 2300 hrs one Usman Beary (47) R/o Kirodi Kashipatna village Belthangady Taluk committed suicide by hanging in his house owing to financial issue.
