• A case of Ordinary Theft has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 19/08/2008 in between 1000 hrs and 0500 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of 3 HP Gas Cylinder belonging to one John Pinto R/o Mottetthadka Kemminje village Puttur Taluk which was kept in his premise of his house. The worth of stolen property worth Rs.4500/.

• A case of MV Theft has been registered Mangalore North Police Station. In between 01/04/2008 and 20/08/2008 some unknown culprits committed theft of a Palio car bearing Reg. No. KA-25-N-0346 belonging to one Dr. Mohammed Siraj (36) R/o near Vikranth Transport company J.M. road Mangalore that was parked in the premises of his house. The Maruthi car is worth Rs. 2,80,000/.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 20/08/2008 at 1015 hrs near Karnataka Bank at Pumpwell Mangalore one rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Q-511 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against another motorcycle bearing reg. No. KA-21-J-9228. As a result motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-J-9228 rider Aswin (19) R/o Kokkada Shibaje village Belthangady Taluk and rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Q-511 also sustained grievous injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Bajpe Police Station. On 19/08/2008 at 1845 hrs at Suralpady Thenkolipady village Mangalore Taluk one Aboobakkar Siddiq driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-9482 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Achabba (60) R/o Suralpady Thenkolipady village Mangalore Taluk a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 20/08/2008 at 1030 hrs on Ujire-Dharmasthala road at Ujere village Belthangady Taluk one driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-25-C-803 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Sharadha (40) R/o Allatabailu Belthangady Town a pedestrian and caused her simple injuries.

On 20/08/2008 at 2000 hrs accused Bhachu @ Bhaskara, Chandra, Vivek, Nithya and others forming into unlawful assembly near Sannidhi Hotel at Thalapady village Mangalore Taluk and criminally restrained Vaibhav Shetty (23) R/o Narla Thalapady village Mangalore Taluk and Yogish and abused them in filthy language and assaulted them with wooden stick and cold drinks bottle owing to previous enmity.

• A case under Mischief causing damage along with Hurt has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 20/08/2008 at 0610 hrs near Unity hospital at Mangalore accused unknown persons damaged glass of KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-2436 by pelting stones. As a result one Babul Saheb who was traveling in the said bus sustained simple injuries owing to trivial issue.

• A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 20/08/2008 at 2000 hrs accused Vaibhav Shetty (23) R/o Narla Thalapady village Mangalore Taluk and Yogish R/o B.C.road Bantwal Town and abused one Vivek (26) R/o Thalapady village Mangalore Taluk in filthy language near Sannidhi Hotel at Thalapady village Mangalore Taluk and assaulted him by hand owing to previous enmity.

• A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Puttur Rural Police Station. On 20/08/2008 at 2000 hrs accused Dinesh abused one Bhaskar (30) R/o Marike Aryapui village Puttur Taluk in filthy language at Marike Aryapui village Puttur Taluk and assaulted him with sickle owing to trivial issue.

• A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 20/08/2008 at 0940 hrs on credible information PI DCIB along with staff conducted a raid in room No 129 at Airlines Lodge Maidan road Mangalore and seized 208 illegal liquor bottles (each 180 ML) worth Rs. 6,000/ and a Mobile Phone by arresting Sugadhan @ Sudlin (36) R/o Vadakamcheri Taluk Kerala State who was selling these liquor illegally there.

Missing Persons: 01

• A case of Man missing has been registered in Venoor Police Station. One Gangadhara Poojary (45) R/o Kalimar Gundury village Puttur Taluk left his house on 10/08/2008 and did not return his house there after. He has been found missing since then.
