On 17/08/2008 at 1815 hrs accused Santhosha and other 6 persons came in motorcycles and forming into unlawful assembly near Guest House at Thaneer Bhavi Mangalore and abused one Alwin Menezes (39) R/o Kulashekara Mangalore and assaulted him by hand and also robbed gold chain from his neck and his brother’s neck. Further they run away from the spot on their motorcycles.

In between 13/08/2008 at 0730 hrs and 14/08/2008 at 1130 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the Jaina Basadi at Baipadi Bandaru village Belthangady Taluk by breaking the door lock and committed theft of Bronze idols all in worth Rs. 20,000/.

- A case of MV Theft has been registered Urwa Police Station. On 16/08/2008 in between 1900 hrs and 2000 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of a Pulsar motorcycle bearing Reg. No. UP-70-Y-8834 belonging to one Vikas Pandey (24) R/o Jeppu Mangalore that was parked roadside at Bharath Mall Bejai Mangalore. The motorcycle is worth Rs. 20,000/.
- A case of MV Theft has been registered Konaje Police Station. In between 16/07/2008 and 17/08/2008 some unknown culprits committed theft of a TVS Star city motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-V-4366 belonging to one Jamaluddin (42) R/o Urumane Manjandy village Mangalore Taluk that was parked near his house. The motorcycle is worth Rs. 25,000/.

On 17/08/2008 at 1000 hrs accused one Thirtharama (22) R/o Jalsur Village Sullia Taluk criminally restrained one Pushpavathi (38) R/o Pilikodi Jalsur Village Sullia Taluk near her house and abused her in filthy language and assaulted her with wooden stick and also gave life threat to her owing to trivial issue.

- A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 17/08/2008 at 0900 hrs on NH 48 at Capitanio Mangalore one Jeans Jose driver of Tata Sumo bearing Reg. No. KL-11-G-6201 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an M 80 motorcycle bearing Reg. No. CRX-6135. As a result motorcycle rider one Valerian Fernandes R/o Veera Nagara Kannur Mangalore sustained serious injuries and admitted to the Omega hospital Mangalore. Where he succumbed to his injuries on same day at 1245 hrs.
- A case of Fatal road accident has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. Where in one Purushothama has been declared dead while under treatment on 17/08/2008 at 1000 hrs. The said Purushothama was seriously injured by a KSRTC bus in a road traffic accident on 13/08/2008 at 1215 hrs at Kelagina Vogga Kadabettu village Bantwal Taluk and admitted to the Fr. Muller’s Hospital at Mangalore. In this connection a case has been already registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station.

On 17/08/2008 at 2230 hrs in front of Swadesh Restuarent Balmatta Road Mangalore one driver of Autorickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-5886 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KL-13-R-903 driven by Rahul K. V. (19) R/o Kannur District Kerala State. As a result motorcycle got damaged. No causalities reported.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Barke Police Station. On 17/08/2008 at 0800 hrs at Lalbagh Mangalore one driver of Bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-AC-8578 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against an Auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-5428. As a result Vishwanatha R/o Ashok Nagar Mangalore the driver of said auto rickshaw and other passengers are in the said auto rickshaw also sustained simple injuries. The bus driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 17/08/2008 at 1630 hrs near Highland Hospital Mangalore one Kishore driver of Auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-4268 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which the vehicle capsized. As a result Yogish (38) R/o Attavara Mangalore a passenger of said auto rickshaw sustained simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 17/08/2008 at 2210 hrs near Bendoor Mangalore one driver of Car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-N-2442 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing reg. No. KA-19-W-4885. As a result motorcycle rider Surendra (26) R/o Someshwara Mangalore and Ramesh pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries. The car driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 16/08/2008 at 1400 hrs at Daddalkadu Mudanadugodu village Bantwal Taluk one Lancy Pereira driver of Jeep bearing Reg. No. CAG-8880 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-J-9193. As a result motorcycle rider Dakayya R/o Panjikallauvilage Bantwal taluk and Sudhakara Poojary pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained grievous injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On 17/08/2008 at 1425 hrs at Santhekatte Kadaba Town Puttur Taluk one Raffique driver of Auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-21-7863 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-J-6731. As a result motorcycle rider Balakrishna (28) R/o Renjilady village Puttur Taluk and Dharmapala pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained serious injuries.

On 16/08/2008 in between 2030 hrs and 2330 hrs accused Suresh Naik, Jayashankar, Vishnu Bhat and another one person criminally restrained Balakrishna Naik (25) R/o Padnur village Batwal Taluk at Kodangai bridge Padnur village Bantwal Taluk and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him by hand and kidnapped him and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 17/08/2008 one unknown female dead body aged about 50 yrs to 55 yrs was found near Nethravathi Snanghatta at Dharmastala village Belthangady Taluk. The death seems to be due to consuming some poison.

- A case of Girl missing has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. One Premalatha (19) R/o Jyothi Nagar Kunjathbail Mangalore left her house in between 15/08/2008 at 2230 and 16/08/2008 at 0700 hrs and did not return her house there after. She has been found missing since then.
