- A case of Burglary has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. In between 09/08/2008 at 1320 hrs and 10/08/2008 at 1000 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Bhaskara Tailor (40) R/o Pacchanady Devinagara Mangalore by breaking the back door lock and committed theft of Cash Rs.15, 000/ and gold ornaments all in worth Rs. 1,15,000/.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 09/08/2008 at 1730 hrs at Nellikaru Moodabidre Mangalore one Nagaraja Shettigara driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-20-A-7558 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. CNX-2905. As a result Krishna (35) R/o Navara village Belthangady Taluk rider of motorcycle sustained simple injuries.

- A case under Rioting, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 09/08/2008 at 1815 hrs accused Ashraf, Abbusali, Husain, Farooq, Khaseem, Riyaz, Moosa, Putthunhi, Moote Rafeeq and Sulaiman forming into unlawful assembly at Kalleri Thaneer Pantha village Belthangady Taluk and abused one Harishchandra K. Bhat (53) R/o Bandaru village Belthangady Taluk in filthy language and assaulted him by hand and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

- A case under Hurt has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 09/08/2008 at 1600 hrs accused one Vishwanatha Shetty assaulted one Chinkra (60) R/o Arasinamakki Hathyadka village Belthangady Taluk with cold drink bottle near his house owing to trivial issue.

- A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Konaje Police Station. On 10/08/2008 at 1745 hrs on credible information PSI Konaje PS along with staff intercepted a car bearing Reg. No. KL-8-U-3758 at Nandarapadpu Kairangala village Bantwal Taluk and seized liquor worth Rs. 24,000/ which was being transported illegally by arresting Abdul Basheer and Brutvan D Souza. However another accused Francis R/o Daigoli managed to escape from the scene. The car has also been seized.
- A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 10/08/2008 at 2015 hrs on credible information PSI Moodabidre PS along with staff conducted a raid on open place at Kalsanka Thodaru village Mangalore Taluk and seized 113 liquor bottles (each 180 ML) of worth Rs. 4,165/ by arresting Ramesh N. Shetty (50) R/o Kapikadu Thodaru village Mangalore Taluk.

- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 09/08/2008 at 2300 hrs one Ganesh Acharya (35) R/o Koyyur village Belthangady Taluk attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison in his house owing personal problem. Further he was admitted to Govt. hospital at Belthangady where he declared dead while under treatment on 10/08/2008 at 0400 hrs.
