In between 18/08/2008 at 1630 hrs and 19/08/2008 at 0900 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry into DKZPHP School at Kuriya village Puttur Taluk by breaking the door lock and committed theft of 5 Gas cylinders belonging to Akshara Dasoha Yojane. The worth of stolen property is Rs. 5, 000/.

In between 18/08/2008 at 2100 hrs and 19/08/2008 at 0630 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of VCD player system and LCD Screen from Innova car belonging to one Sudesh Sanil (38) R/o Mannagudda Mangalore which was parked roadside at Alake Kambla cross Mangalore. The stolen property is worth Rs 12,000/.
- A case of Ordinary theft has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. In between 15/08/2008 and 18/08/2008 at 0900 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of HP Pump set belonging to Govt higher primary school at Kowkrady village Puttur Taluk. The stolen property is worth Rs. 9500/.

- A case under Cruelty by husband, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Kadaba Police Station on the complaint of one Sunanda (31) R/o Pudrelu Kombaru village Puttur Taluk. In the complaint it is alleged that accused Udaya (husband) gave physical and mental harassment to one Sunanda and abused her in filthy language in her house and assaulted her with wooden stick owing to family dispute.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 19/08/2008 at 1345 hrs near Lady Goshen Mangalore one driver of Bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-AB-6399 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-R-8290. As a result motorcycle rider Rajesh Acharya R/o Yekkaru Mangalore Taluk and Jayaram Shetty pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 19/08/2008 at 1230 hrs on NH 17 at Nethravathi Bridge Mangalore one driver of Maruthi car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-5001 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Tata Ace Tempo bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-4379. As a result Tempo driver Dayananda (38) R/o Pumpwell Mangalore, Abubakkar who was traveling in the said Tempo, Santhosh and Gopal who were traveling in the Maruti car sustained simple injuries.

No. KA-19-X-5721 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Dhanaraj a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 19/08/2008 at 1445 hrs at Doddathota Kemraje village Sullia Taluk one driver of KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KL-15-4147 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Maruti Omni car bearing Reg. No. KA-01-2786. As a result one Nasir A. (34) R/o Gandhinagara Sullia Town driver of Maruti Omni car sustained simple injuries.

On 18/08/2008 at 2015 hrs accused Farooq, Rasheed and others criminally restrained one Soofy (33) R/o Ajalady Kuriya village Puttur Taluk at Dimbery Kuriya village Puttur Taluk and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him with stone and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

- A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Konaje Police Station. On 19/08/2008 at 14000 hrs on credible information PSI Lottery and Excise detention squad Mangalore along with staff conducted a raid on an open place at Bastikatte Amlamogaru village Mangalore Taluk and seized illegal liquor (10 Lts) worth Rs. 1, 000/. How ever accused one Sandeep (22) R/o Amlamogaru village Mangalore Taluk who was selling these liquor has managed to escape from the place.
- A case under Karnataka Excise Act has been registered in Puttur Rural Police Station. On 19/08/2008 at 1030 hrs on credible information PSI Puttur Rural PS along with staff conducted a raid on an open place at Thambuthadka Nidpalli village Puttur Taluk and seized 32 illegal liquor bottles (each 180 ML) worth Rs. 1, 440/ by arresting Jayantha Poojary (34) R/o Nidpalli village Puttur Taluk and Joseph D Souza (45) R/o Balnadu village Puttur Taluk who were selling these liquor illegally there.
Unnatural Death Report: 01
- A case under Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 18/08/2008 at 2040 hrs one Dinesha (23) R/o Konaje village Puttur Taluk attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison at his house owing to financial problem. Further he was admitted to Chethana hospital at Puttur where he declared dead while under treatment on same day at 2045 hrs.
