Motor Vehicle Theft: 01

• A case of MV Theft has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. In between 02/02/2008 at 2200 hrs and 03/02/2008 at 0600 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of a TVS Star city motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-W-9499 belonging to one Ummer (27) R/o Madupalla Ira village Bantwal Taluk that was parked in the premise of his house. The motorcycle is worth Rs. 35,000/.

Crime against Women: 01

• A case of Cruelty by Husband and relatives has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station on the complaint of one Selin Suman Sequira (32) R/o Parladka Puttur Town. In the complaint it is alleged that her husband Vincent Sequira and his relatives Jocob Sequira, Alis Sequira, John, Roni Sequira and Veronica Sequira gave physical and mental harassment to her owing to family dispute.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station where in one B.A. K. Maniyani (50) R/o Kolya Someshwara village Mangalore Taluk was declared dead while under treatment on 03/02/2008 at 0330 hrs. The said B.A. K. Maniyani was seriously injured in a road traffic accident on 31/01/2008 at 0215 hrs on NH 17 at Someshwara village Mangalore Taluk and admitted to the A.J Hospital at Mangalore. In this connection a case of road traffic accident has already been registered in Ullal Police Station.
  
• A case of Fatal road accident has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 04/02/2008 at 1245 hrs at Gundyadka Halegate Sullia Taluk one Vivekananda driver of KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-2460 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a Bajaj M80 motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-J-857. As a result Achutha Nayak rider of said motorcycle sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 03/02/2008 at 2130 hrs near Platinum Theater Mangalore one unknown driver of Indica car bearing Reg. No. MH-04-BN-3065 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-J-3203. As a result Azeez motorcycle rider and Mohammed Nizam (19) R/o Maripalla Pudu village Bantwal Taluk pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained grievous injuries. The Indica car driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.
  
• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 04/02/2008 at 1315 hrs at Adka Someshwara village Mangalore Taluk one Yashawantha Shetty rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-S-6397 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against another motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KL-14-C-9599. As a result rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KL-14-C-9597 sustained grievous injuries. Further Yashavantha Shetty rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-S-6397 and Jayarama Poojary (32) R/o Adyapadi village Mangalore Taluk pillion rider of said motorcycle also sustained simple injuries.
  
• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 04/02/2008 at 1400 hrs at Someshwara Mundaje village Belthangady Taluk one Thimmappa driver of KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-18-F-02006 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which vehicle capsized. As a result Manjunatha (21) R/o Arasikere Taluk Hasana District and other 46 passengers who were traveling in the said bus sustained grievous injuries.
  
• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 04/02/2008 at 1900 hrs at Madanthyaru Maladi village Belthangady Taluk one Abdul Sheik driver of Inova car bearing Reg. No. MH-03-Z-8126 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-J-9899. As a result Prashantha motorcycle rider and Sesappa pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.

• A case under Rioting, Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Mulki Police Station. On 04/02/2008 at 1530 hrs accused Sachu @ Sathisha, Pushpak, Melwin, Kuttu and others forming into an unlawful assembly at Karnadu village Mangalore Taluk and criminally restrained Ganesh Acharya (28) R/o Kilpadi village Mangalore Taluk and his brother and abused them in filthy language and assaulted them by hand and with stone. The motive seems to be financial dispute between them.

Hurts: 01

• A case under Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On 03/02/2008 at 1730 hrs accused Thaniyappa and Ramesha criminally restrained one Madhava (20) R/o Dammadka Kobaru village Puttur Taluk near his house and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him with sickle and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.

• A case under NDPS Act has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 05/02/2008 at 0730 hrs on credible information ASP Panambur along with staff arrested one Basavaraj (30) Soraba Taluk Shivamogga District and seized 9.750 Kgs of Ganja (worth Rs. 39,000/) from his bag and also two mobile phones from his possession. Police apprehended him while he was selling at Rayikatte Kulur Mangalore Taluk.
