• A case of Burglary has been registered in Urwa Police Station. In between 20/02/2008 at 1200 hrs and 21/02/2008 at 1030 hrs some unknown culprits gained entry gain into the house belonging to one Manamohana Shetty (36) R/o Abbakkanagara Apartment Kottara Mangalore by breaking the front door lock and committed theft of gold ornaments worth Rs. 1,00000/.

• A case under Attempt to commit theft has been registered in Kadaba Police Station. On 21/02/2008 at 0130 hrs one Ramanna Rai R/o Kutrupady village Puttur Taluk attempted to commit theft of arecanut belonging to one Jayachandra Rai (36) R/o Kutrupady village Puttur Taluk that was kept near his house.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 20/02/2008 at 2000 hrs at Bolara Mangalore one rider of Kinetic Honda scooter bearing Reg. No. KA-20-H-2367 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-X-4074 driven by one Lohith Kumar (21) R/o Bunts Hostel Mangalore. As a result motorcycle got damaged. No causalities reported.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 21/02/2008 at 1510 hrs at Karkunja Puttur Town one Shridhar Gowda driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-21-8422 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which auto rickshaw capsized. As a result Shridhara Nayak (28) R/o Balnad village Puttur Taluk who was traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained grievous injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 21/02/2008 at 1940 hrs near Aruna Theater at Puttur Town one Nasir driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-21-5267 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Prabhakara a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries.

• A case under Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 20/02/2008 at 2000 hrs accused 3 unknown persons criminally restrained one Navaz (25) R/o Nisargadhamanagara Moodushedde village Mangalore Taluk near his house and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him with wooden stick owing to trivial issue.

• A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 20/02/2008 at 2030 hrs accused one Jayarama Nayak abused one Devi Prasad Rai @ Prasad Rai (29) R/o Mudkaje Mada Maninalkoor village Bantwal Taluk near his house in filthy language and assaulted him by hand and with iron rod and also gave life threat to him. The motive seems to be civil dispute between them.

• A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 20/02/2008 at 2030 hrs at Mudkaje Maninalkoor village Bantwal Taluk accused one Devi Prasad Rai @ Prasad Rai abused one Jayarama Nayak (36) R/o Padoor village Bantwal Taluk in filthy language and assaulted him by hand and also gave life threat to him. The motive seems to be civil dispute between them.

Unnatural Death Report: 02

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Konaje Police Station. On 17/02/2008 at 1630 hrs one Anthony D’ Souza (45) R/o Pavoor village Mangalore Taluk accidentally fell down from the coconut tree while removing coconuts near his house and got seriously injured and died on the spot.

• A case under Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 20/02/2008 at 1230 hrs one unknown male aged about 20 yrs attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison at Potladka Kowkardy village Puttur Taluk owing to personal problem. Further he was admitted to hospital where he was declared dead while under treatment on 21/02/2008 at 0500 hrs.

Missing Persons: 01

• A case of Woman and Child missing has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. One Seema Rodrigo’s (41) W/o Felix Rodrigo’s R/o Pandeshwara Mangalore left her house with her son Freebies (10) on 14/08/2007 and did not return to her house there after. They have been found missing since then.
