Crime against Women: 01

• A case of outraging the modesty of woman along with Hurt has registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 23/02/2008 at 1345 hrs near Kumaradhara river at Uppinangady village Puttur Taluk accused one Shashidhara R/o Ninikallu tried to outrage the modesty of one Sumathi (19) R/o Uppinanagdy Puttur Taluk by pulling her hand and he also assaulted her by hand.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 23/02/2008 at 1945 hrs on NH 17 at Gorigudda Kankanady Mangalore one Divakara driver of Mahindra pickup vehicle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-2108 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-03-S-6262. As a result one Godwin D’Souza (34) rider of said motorcycle sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot.

• A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Puttur Town Police Station. On 23/02/2007 at 1100 hrs near Parladka Bypass junction at Puttur Town one Kinnu Moolya driver of jeep bearing Reg. No. CRQ-9005 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Krishna Moolya (51) R/o Aryapu village Puttur Taluk a pedestrian and caused him serious injuries. Further Krishna Moolya was admitted to City Hospital Mangalore where he succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on 24/02/2008 at 1215 hrs.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mulki Police Station. On 23/02/2008 at 2215 hrs on NH-17 at Haleyangady village Mangalore Taluk one Saiyed Husain driver of lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-34-3899 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-U-8340. As a result one Niranjan rider of the said motorcycle sustained grievous injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 22/02/2008 at 1900 hrs at Hanchikatte Kavalapadoor village Bantwal Taluk one Krishna Kumar driver of Eicher lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-41-7899 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-2227 driven by one Damodara M. Naik (55) R/o Kankanady Mangalore. As a result both vehicle got damaged. No casualities reported.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 22/02/2008 at 2030 hrs at Jodumarga Kokkada village Belthangady Taluk one Giriyappa driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-21-6542 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-J-7875. As a result K.C Joy rider of motorcycle and Mudara (35) R/o Puttakodi Kokkada village Belthangady Taluk pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.

• A case under Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt, Mischief of causing damage along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 23/02/2008 at 1300 hrs accused two known persons came in a Pulsar motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-5234 and stopped a car bearing Reg. No. KA- 19-B-5234 at Kudroli Mangalore and abused the inmates Krishnappa (38) R/o Moodigere Chikkamagaluru District and Abela D’Souza in filthy language and assaulted them by stone and damaged the car by pelting stone and also gave life threat to them.

Unnatural Death Report: 01

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. One unknown female dead body aged about 50 to 55 yrs was found in Nethravathi river at Dharmasthala village Belthangady Taluk. It seems to be a case of drowning.

Missing Persons: 01

• A case of Girl missing has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. One Yashodha (23) R/o Kerya Puduvettu village Belthangady Taluk left her house on 17/02/2008 and did not return her house there after. She has been found missing since then.
