- A case of MV Theft has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. In between 16/02/2008 at 2100 hrs and 17/02/2008 at 0600 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of a Bajaj Sunny scooter bearing Reg. No. KA-19-J-2785 belonging to one Jagadhish K. Kamath (53) R/o Lakshinagara Apartment Kodialbail Mangalore that was parked in the premises of his house. The Bajaj Sunny scooter is worth Rs. 3, 000/.

- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. On 17/02/2008 at 0300 hrs at Mulihithlu junction Mangalore one driver of Tipper bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-2439 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-20-Q-9698. As a result motorcycle rider Abhi Mathew (21) R/o Velencia Mangalore and Breto Peter pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 16/02/2008 at 1330 hrs on NH 17 at Kottara Derabailu village Mangalore one Sathish driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-20-9742 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which auto rickshaw capsized. As a result one Manoj Shetty (32) R/o Ashokanagara Mangalore who was traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 16/02/2008 at 0930 hrs at Kelaginapete Bantwal Town one Jazkir rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-X-740 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Salman Khan a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries.
- A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 17/02/2008 at 2115 hrs near K.B. Malla Petrolo Pump at Belthangady Taluk one Jeenadatta Jain K.D. driver of Maruti car bearing Reg. No. KA-40-M-140 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-K-488. As a result Krishna (31) motorcycle rider and Suresh pillion rider of said motorcycle sustained simple injuries.

- A case under Rioting, Criminal restraint, Hurt along with Criminal intimation has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 17/02/2008 at 0130 hrs accused Jazkir and other 09 persons forming into an unlawful assembly at Madial Baikampady Mangalore and stopped a motorcycle and assaulted rider of said motorcycle one Abdul Rashid (23) R/o Urundadygudde Panjimogaru Mangalore by hand and with wooden stick and also gave life threat to him. The motive seems to be that Abdul Rashid had earlier lodged a complaint against accused Jazkir in Kavoor Police Station.

- A case under Criminal restraint, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 17/02/2008 at 2000 hrs accused Monappa Gowda and Jhony criminally restrained one Shanmuka (48) R/o Aniyur Belthangady Taluk at Aniyur Neriya village Belthangady Taluk and assaulted him by hand also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.
- A case under Hurt along with Criminal restraint has been registered in Bantwal Rural Police Station. On 17/02/2008 at 1100 hrs accused Haneef @ Batla Haneef and Raheem @ Abdul Raheem assaulted one Anwar Husain (28) R/o Sajipanadu village Bantwal Taluk with iron rod and with kinfe and also gave life threat to him owing to personal enmity.

- A case under Causing death due to negligence (sec 304 A) has been registered in Vittal Police Station. On 16/02/2008 at 1615 hrs at M.S. Nayak Petrol pump Vittal Town Bantwal Taluk Pramod Kumar and Lajjaram accidentally fell down from the roof while repairing the roof of the said petrol pump and got seriously injured due to the negligence of Anil Gulati Supervisor Booted Shine Company. Further both were admitted to hospital at Mangalore where one Lajjaram succumbed to his injuries while under treatment on the same day.

- A case under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 16/02/2008 at 2300 hrs on credible information PSI Surathkal along with his staff conducted raid near Nataraj Theater at Idya village Mangalore Taluk and arrested Dikshitha (19), Savithri @ Joythi (20), Sunitha (20) and Vamana Saliyan (40) who were soliciting for prostitution there.
Unnatural Death Report: 02
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 17/02/2008 at 0200 hrs one unknown male dead body aged about 45 to 50 yrs was found in highly decomposed state in Netravathi river at Ullal Jappinamogaru village Mangalore. The death seems to be due to drowning. Identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
- A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 17/02/2008 in between 0900 hrs and 1845 hrs one Manchu @ Honnappa (30) R/o Belandoor village Puttur Taluk accidentally fell down while waking at Tharigudde Chikkamudnoor village Puttur Taluk due to some illness and died on the spot .
