Motor Vehicle Theft:01

• A case of MV Theft has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. On 18/02/2008 in between 1930 hrs and 2030 hrs some unknown culprits committed theft of a Maruti Omni car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-M-8934 belonging to one Mohammed Rasheed (30) R/o Bantwal Town that was parked in front of Hotel Prethesh at Bantwal Town. The Maruti Omni car is worth Rs. 85,000/.

• A case under Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Hurt has been registered in Subramanya Police Station. On 18/02/2008 at 1800 hrs accused one Rohithaksha abused his wife Parvathi in filthy language and assaulted her by hand near her house. They also assaulted Lolakshi (27) W/o Padmanabha R/o Salthady Nalkoor village Sullia Taluk assaulted her with wooden stick who came to help Parvathi owing to trivial issue.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Urwa Police Station. On 19/02/2008 at 1820 hrs at Chilimbi Mangalore one Prashantha rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-R-3302 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against one Vinutha Shoney a pedestrian and caused her grievous injuries. Further motorcycle rider lost control over his vehicle due which vehicle capsized. As a result Prashanth rider of said motorcycle also sustained grievous injuries.

• A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Uppinangady Police Station. On 18/02/20078 at 1900 hrs at Kalladka Koukardy village Puttur Taluk one Ramanna driver of jeep bearing Reg. No. KA-21-M-46 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and dashed against a rickshaw tempo bearing Reg. No. KA-21-8158. As a result Ramesh driver of rickshaw tempo and Naveen Kumar (21) R/o Kokkada village Belthangady Taluk who was traveling in the said rickshaw tempo sustained simple injuries.

• A case under Rioting, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 19/02/2008 at 0900 hrs accused Ramanna Gowda, Dayananda, Jagadhisha, Kushalappa, Ramesh, Narayana and Lokayya forming into an unlawful assembly and abused Ramla Beary (45) R/o Akkol Neriya village Belthangady Taluk near his house in filthy language and assaulted him by hand. They also assaulted Haneef by hand who came to help Ramla Beary and also gave life threat to them. The motive seems to be civil dispute between Ramla Beary and accused persons.

• A case under Rioting, Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Belthangady Police Station. On 19/02/2008 at 0900 hrs accused Putthu Monu, Ramla Beary, Muthalib, Haneef, Khadri Beary, Farooq and Mansoor forming into an unlawful assembly at Akkol Neriya village Belthangady Taluk and criminally restrained one Dayananda (28) R/o Mucharali Neriya village Belthangady Taluk and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him by hand. They also assaulted Kamala and Sheelavathi by hand who came to help Dayananda and also gave life threat to them. The motive seems to be civil dispute between Dayananda and accused persons.

• A case under Hurt has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 19/02/2008 at 1500 hrs at Bommaru Markanja village Sullia Taluk accused one Ananda assaulted one Shashidhara (48) R/o Renjala Markanja village Sullia Taluk with stone owing to financial issue.

• A case under Hurt has been registered in Sullia Police Station. On 19/02/2008 at 1500 hrs at Bommaru Markanja village Sullia Taluk accused one Shashidhara assaulted one Ananda (35) R/o Dasarabailu Markanja village Sullia Taluk with stone owing to financial issue.

Others: 01

• A case under Causing grievous hurt due to negligent act (Sec 338 IPC) has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 17/02/2008 at 0830 hrs at Aloysius College building Mangalore, one Basavaraj @ Karibasappa R/o Koppala District accidentally fell down from the building while working on the said building and got seriously injured due to the negligence of Chennappa Lift operator.

Unnatural Death Report: 03

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Urwa Police Station. On 18/02/2008 at 1630 hrs one Sathyanatha (60) R/o Urwa Marigudy Mangalore accidentally fell down due to some illness while walking near his house and died on the spot.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Panambur Police Station. On 19/02/2007 at 1719 hrs one unknown male dead body aged about 20 yrs was found on railway track at Railway Track Panambur Mangalore. It seems to be a case of suicide. Identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

• A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Bantwal Town Police Station. In between 18/02/2008 at 1430 hrs and 19/02/2008 at 1530 hrs one Vimala (45) R/o Pajekaidady Bantwal Town committed suicide by jumping into the pond near her house owing to health problem.

Missing Persons: 01

• A case of Man missing has been registered in Sullia Police Station. One Chaniya (25) R/o Kalcharu Ubaradka Mitthuru village Sullia Taluk who left his house on 09/02/2008 at 0900 hrs and did not return his house there after. He has been found missing since then.
